I plan on taking a group on a Tennessee / North Carolina ride through the mountains. We'll ride into ground zero ( Knoxville , Tennessee ) on friday evening April 23 . The ride will be saturday April 24 and we'll do all 100 % of this ride without ever touching the super slab. Leaving Knxoxville saturday morning and taking backroads out by beautiful Fort Loudon Lake into Tellico Plains, Tennessee then checking out Bald River Falls and crossing The Cherohala Skyline into North Carolina. We rode over yesterday and The Dragon is open from the North Carolina side we'll make a pass through US 129 The Dragon turn around at the rockslide and go back to Deals Gap at take The Hellbender 28 or as some call it The Moonshiner 28 . From there we'll ride into Murphy, North Carolina and take Hwy.68 back into Tennessee with a stop at The Field Of The Woods. Sunday morning we head home.Let the motel know you are with the Smokinjoe group in order to get the discount rate....You need a room for friday April 23 and saturday April 24. I've got folks from Louisiana,Mississippi,North and South Carolina , Illinois,Georgia and Kentucky that claim they will be there however I'm not expecting a large group I'm guessing about 10 bikes. Motel 6 ....402 Lovell Rd.....Knoxville , Tennessee (865) 675-7200 This is a single level park at your door motel with several resturants within walking distance. Here's the rates ... Single $31.66 per night total .... Double $37.98 per night total    |

Lookin' forward to it Al just got off the phone with Paul ( Wimp ) and he's confirmed also. I'm thinking somewhere around 10 to 12 bikes with Mike Mashall and Thumper from this site. Lucky 13 called me today also its possible he'll ride  . |

I was telling Joe, I plan to get to Knoxville by riding up to Rosman, NC, up 215 to I40, up through all those good roads up to Hot Springs, NC and then head west to Knoxville... if my buddy Henry's final drive hadn't gotten lost somewhere in the depths of Pinwall he'd probably come too. Pinwall found it and sent it two-day-air today... we could have put his bike back together with the old stuff and been fine for a while, but then we just would have had to take it apart again... -Mike |

We might cross paths on our travels, since we're riding up from Florida to our hours in Tellico Plains and leaving tomorrow morning. Up 441, stopping somewhere in GA, heading west out of Clayton GA, through Murphy, past the 10 commandments and over the hill to Tellico. Enjoy! And riding by the weather channel might slow some folks down, but not us.

So my question is when do think you guys will be raping an pillaging through Tellico Plains on Saturday AM because I'd like to meet up with you there.
