Hi all!
After wanting to become a motorcycle rider for 10 yrs, but because the children were small and being a bit careless at times which kept me from being a motorcycle owner; I bought a 2000 Valkyrie with 24k miles on her.  Pick her up on Monday.

Accessories already installed- KingBigBoy UltimateV seat installed, Leather bags, windshield.  New tire and battery last august.
Accessories already planned- Peg relocation, The 10" forward control kit through BigBikeThings to start.
Possible future plans- CarTire change, center dual kickstand, and if i fall for the bike as bad as i think i am; eventually a trike change when i'm older- only 39 this year.

BTW, almost didn't decide on the Valk due to the location of the footpeg/shifter.  I'm 6'4" and 350lbs...  My main priority is making this a comfortable bike to take for rides.... I would like to be able to go 1 tank of gas straight of riding and still being able to walk...  any other suggestions besides the relocation kit and 10"forward control  that will help with comfort ?

Either way, i'm new to riding and new to the Valkyrie...

Worry about learning to ride first. Practice, practice, practice... Maybe a MSF class? There will be plenty of time to accessorize later.
Also, never forget.....WE'RE INVISIBLE!

Congratulation's on the ride! You're gonna have a blast.   cooldude

Worry about the forward controls AFTER you have learned to ride the Valkyrie.

This bike is bigger than most of your Harley's that are famous for the forward controls.   I've ridden most of the brands, and the forward controls always felt like I was bent into pretzel and it made my shoulders hurt.   I however, haven't ridden a Harley since the CHP got rid of them, and got the Kawasaki 1000........

Have fun.

THE CORBIN SEAT HAS MORE ROOM.

THAN THE ULTIMATE.

I AM 6'3" AND 260 LBS., FOUND THIS OUT CAUSE I BOUGHT A BIKE WITH THE CORBIN ON IT.

I HAVE EXTRA LONG LEGS AND FOUND THAT HIGHWAY PEGS BY KURYAKEN ARE THE WAY TO GO.

THEY MAKE WHOLE FOOT SIZE PEGS AND STUFF THAT WILL HAVE YOU COMFORTABLE

IN NO TIME.

ALSO BIGGER PEOPLE USUALLY BENEFIT FROM THOSE WOODEN BEADS THAT CAB DRIVERS USE.

THIS IS A MUST FOR SOME PEOPLE, ALSO LAMBS WOOL ON THE SEAT CUTS OUT A LOT OF THE BUTT BURN.

GEL PADS ARE GOOD FOR SOME BUT NOT ME.

lOOSING WEIGHT WILL HELP BUT YOU WILL STILL GET THE MONKEY BUTT WITH THE WRONG SEAT.

PROGRESSIVE SHOCKS FOR THE REAR WITH SPRING RATES DESIGNED FOR YOU WOULD ALSO HELP THE COMFORT LEVEL.

ANOTHER THING IS FOOT WEAR, TOURING STYLE BOOTS LIKE SIDI OR ALPINE STARS OFFER TENNIS SHOE LIKE WEIGHT BUT WITH PROTECTION YOU MIGHT NEED.

HERES TO YOU FINDING THE ONE THING.........................................................

highway pegs.

A tank a gas?  That's barely a start to the fun.

If... for some reason you decide to dump the kingboy seat... let me know.  I'd be interested in taking it off your hands.

Good luck!

Congratulations.

Got it home today...  love at first sight... she's just hard on me and my hips right now.  Sort of like she doesn't want to be ridden by a new rider.  Playing around alot with seat position and i think i figured out what i need.  The highway pegs will help, but they won't solve my issue; neither will forward controls, because both of these require your hips to split like your doing the splits..  I heard of a company in florida where they can reshape your seat, add foam or remove foam, etc...  I think i'm gonna call and ask if they can add foam to only make a small contour on the seat; basically moving it up and allowing me to move away from the engine more.

Does this make sense to anyone?/??    The company is Sargeant Cylcle in Florida.

I do have a peg relocate kit ordered which will lower the peg and move it forward a bit which should help..

BTW, i'm 6'4" 350# and 34 inseam and have bad hips..

I do love how she looks though.  And the nickel trick worked...my wife couldn't believe it....

Russell Day Long is the seat for you Pal.

Will customize it to your Arse the old fashioned way and this is supposed to be the best seat

you can get for comfort.

Well friend I am 325/6'4" and hung like a stud field mouse. All I did was go to a mustang seat and highway pegs mounted to the engine guard. Then I bought the "Airhawk" bladder for my seat bottom and I am good to go. Rode as many as 850 miles in 12.5 hrs. I find that as long as I can move my feet foward then back as I ride keeps me from getting stiff and tired.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your Valk!  A seat with a backrest and hwy pegs should make you plenty comfortable.
