Co-worker wants to sell me his S&W 629 classic stainless .44 mag, says it is in pristine condition.  Hogue grips.  This guy takes GOOD care of his stuff.  I still have not physically inspected the revolver, but just wondering what price would seem fair?  I'm not actively looking for a .44 (really want to get a 9mm or .40 pistol) but would go for a GOOD deal.

This search should show ya' what 629 44's in stainless steel are currently going for to give you an idea... Length of barrel will also play into the value, IMHO...

Gun Broker prices Serk posted look about right. If it is " pristine " anything less than $750 would be a good price. See if he still has the original walnut grips, they are really nice on the classics. Longer barrel often brings mor money.  Mfg. suggested retail is around $1100.  Good luck......
