It is with great regret that I announce that there will  NOT   be a CBR this year.

It has been a GREAT run.

Lady Di and I have thoroughly enjoyed hosting this event in the past and have MANY great memories and great times.  But it is time to bow out on top and let another great event take its place.  There are reasons why we decided not to continue - NONE of which have any substance to them other than we felt that it was time for something new and to let something fresh take place.  And that it was a lot of work (WHEW!), kudos to all that host the VRCC rides.

I am heartened that  the Mothman ride will be held and hope that the fine riding in the area will draw a good turnout.

Best wishes to you all and ride safe on your travels!

Doc and Lady Di

I kept saying to myself, "maybe next year" and never made it. CBR always sounded like a fun gathering, good food, good stories, and a good ride. I always heard good things about it, but sadly never made it.

Maybe one day I'll stop procrastinating. Maybe I'll stop procrastinating later.

But seriously, it does take a lot of work to put those together at times. Thanks for the past effort, now hopefully you'll be able to hop on the bike and enjoy the ride to the next even.

See you on the road.

Doc,

The family and I can’t thank you, Lady Di and your family enough for all the fun times with good friends you made possible through the CBR.

Hope to see you in the wind soon.

Thanks again,
Mike, Mel and family.

Doc, thanks to you and Lady Di for organizing and hosting this event over the years. The CBR in Bedford, IN was my first VRCC ride, and the one that introduced me to so many of the great people in the VRCC.

Sorry to see it go by the wayside, since it was always a favorite of Diane's (my Di!) and mine. But, as I said in another post, I certainly understand.

Doc, so glad i finally made a CBR last year! I know ALL TOO well what you meant in your post...as i've already told my reasons for ending the 'formal' Cheaha after this year.

thanks for a job well done. Enjoyed my CBR participation....and will have that fond memory to keep long after the last one fades into the sunset.

All i can say for folks who keep saying "i'll make InZane NEXT year....I'll make CBR NEXT year....I'll make CHeaha NEXT year...I'll make Panama City Beach NEXT year...I'll make Louisiana Swamp thing NEXT year....I'll make Oklahoma Robbers Cave NEXT year....I'll make Helen GA NEXT year......."  SOMETIMES....................there aint no NEXT YEAR! Actually....as we see from ALL BUT THE IZ event listed above....often....sooner or later...there in NO NEXT YEAR!

My motto...........live for TODAY! There may be no tomorrow........ cooldude

Doc, Lady Di, and family,

I guess it's true that all good things must come to an end, but it's still sad just the same.  The CBR was always on my 'gotta get there' list, and I've always had a great time while there.  Ya had a great run, and brought many new friends together...  For that we are all in your debt.

Sorry to see it end, but I understand, I guess... Undecided

Hope to see you soon, regardless of where it may be.

Safe winds brother  Wink

Thanks Doc and Lady Di for all the hard work you both have put into this event.  I have only been a member of the VRCC for 3 years and have made 2 out of the 3 CBR rides.  I know the amount of time that it takes to put together a ride of that size believe me it is a lot of work and takes a lot of energy in making sure everything is set and ready to go I could go on and on but
THANK S AGAIN TO YOU DOC AND LIDY DI  for the two great rides that I was able to take part of they were GREAT!

Doc, glad that I was able to get up yonder for 2 of them - one of my MOST FAVORITE events.  You and Lady Di did an awesome job of putting it on.  What I really dug was it really was about the PEOPLE.

The food and ride was cool, but the PEOPLE were great and it was geared to getting the PEOPLE together.

Thanks for having me - I sincerely always DUG that get together......

THANKS!

Darth, I mean Doc, thanks for all the fun you made happen for so many other people. You and your family are the special kind of people that go over and above to help others in so many ways. We always had the best of times at the CBR events and we will surely miss it in the future.

Please extend our thanks to all your family for all the great meets you put on for all of us.

You ever get to Wichita please look us up.

Cry  All good things must pass, but the CBR has always meant so much to me.  The memories were always special.  The "wedding" was especially meaningful as a lady who had never been aboard a motorcycle before met my extended family.  She was so overwhelmed by the one and all.  I could easily say that I would not have found true happiness if it were not for the CBR.  I was on my way home from the CBR when I finally got the nerve to call Cheryl.  WillyBill had loaned me his Valk to ride while he rode another brand [thanks WillyBill, I know the sacrifice].  When I climbed in the truck to drive home from his house, I called Cheryl.  Never been happier, although all of thos CBR rides were a close second.  It wasn't about the ride, it was the gathering of the riders.  No greater bunch of folks who care, share, love, and ride.

In short, I owe so much of my life to Doc, Di, and all of those who have attended the CBR through the years.  They kept me going until I could meet Cheryl.  Been thinking about climbing off the Valkyrie for good, and as the CBR comes to an end, so may rides of "The Quickening."  It was a great ride, the greatest in fact.  So was the CBR, and Doc and Di were the most gracious and generous of hosts.  Thanks for the memories, for they are many.

Bill, it is a pleasure having you for a friend and meeting your wife, all at the CBR.  I too, have met many friends at the CBR.

Mark and I are seriously thinking about some type of Hoosier ride and although it would be work, it would be worth it to try have one meeting of friends in Indiana.

It would be worth even more if we could keep you and Cheri riding.  Just for info, my 82nd birthday was yesterday and 'though Emanuel is gone, I'm going to try to keep riding awhile longer here.

Why don't you??

Wayne, I'm at the other end of the state but if you and Mark work up a ride I would be willing to help. Being new I didn't get to attend the CBR but would sure like to keep a Indiana ride of some sort going. Surely their are enough Hoosier riders to put something together. Just a thought.

Thanks for the offer Scoobydoo. We'll see what we can up with.

I'm going to check places and interesting rides up here in NE Indiana in the next week or so.. We have to be real creative on rides since we have flatland and some gravel roads. LOL.
