Our very first day on the Valk up on the BRP!

Lynchburg, Virginia

« on: April 24, 2010, 07:16:01 PM »

We shipped our son Paul off to St Lucia to Medical school today!!  cooldude We are very proud of him. But it is going to be a long (and expensive Shocked) two years with him being away from home! Undecided
Things are going well already for him, as he flew out of Dulles, Washington at 6:30am this morning, and he was feet dry in St. Lucia at around 1:30pm and he already has an apartment and it is only a mile from the school!
There are 2 other students from the university in the same apartment block and the driver from the school will be picking them all up at 7:15am every morning.
I just talked to him via Skype (webcam) and he gave me a video tour of the apartment and it was a nice little place. But HOT!! He said it was about 87 degrees and no AC! Shocked Shocked Gonna be a long hot summer.
Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick update on Paul for those who have followed his saga with heart surgery a year ago to now wanting to be a "saw bones" himself!
Thanks for letting me vent,
Tom T in Lynchburg, VA

Best of luck to him! I'm sure he will be missed. We can always use more good doctors.

Hey RJ,
Believe it or not, the area that is of most interest to him, is he wants to be a "Brain Cutter"!! LOL   Yuch!!  He has a long way to go for that specialty! But that seems to be where his strengths lay.
Thanks for all the kind words folks!

I spent three weeks in St.Lucia on vacation.
I guess he knows all about the beachs and how
the women tend to forget the tops to their swimware.
I for onr loved my time there.
If he wants to cool off tell him to go up in the hills.
The water is like a bath, about 86 or so.
  Good luck to him.
