The day is growing into a huge event! We've added a live band, a bike wash tent, a couple demo vendors and LOTS of food! All of this as well as the 'Ride for Kids' tent, leathergoods vendor, and the Goldwing group of Greenville, it should be a great day. Dont forget Daniel Meyer will be here as well signing some books, and if you were in need like B.A.D. was last week, he might even give out some maintenance advice as well! (Love that pic of the week!)
The folks at Ham's Orchard are excited about our ride coming on their opening day too. I hope everyone can make the day and would LOVE to extend the invite to all of our brothers and sisters in neighboring states as well.
Bikes will meet at Wal-Mart southwest parking area around 11:30 for line up and then come across the street at 12:00 noon for the "Landing of the Valkyrie's". I can't wait to see everyone.

How 'bout getting a group together to ride out from the metromess?

I will be caging it to take out the pop up a little earlier if anyone with an arm in a cast would like to co-pilot - though I would rather have a photo of Jim riding bitch on Sly's bike!

Sounds like a good idea.  What time?  Where would be the best meet-up?  380 across the top?  I-30 out from the middle?

We're bringing in lots of Valks, but its open to anyone and everyone that rides. If it has a motor and two wheels and gets lots of wind in your hair, they are most welcome! Our unoffical Parade "Grand Marshall" will be on a Harley ... so make sure and bring your windshield tear offs!  2funny

We enjoyed meeting you Clarksville, AND admiring that beautiful paintjob on the valk. I will give a run down of events closer to the weekend, but its pretty simple. The store opens at 8:30. Come anytime you can or want from that point. I will have a man across the street at 11:00 am to begin lining up the bikes for the "Landing", when we have all the Valkyrie's ride from the Wal-Mart Parking lot and fill up our parking area. At 12:00 we will have free hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and cold drinks. There will be several vendors on sight, along with the "ride for Kids" booth and Daniel Meyer will be signing books inside. Our band decided to take a paying gig so I'm asking B.A.D. to sing for us for live entertainment! (Oops, I hope that doesn't thin out the crowd!)

At 3:00 we load up and are police escorted from Greenville, down 34 south to Qunilan and go across the lake and end up on Hiway 80 just east of Terrell and ride to Ham's Orchard. This is opening Day for the Orchard and they are excited about our coming. There you can indulge in whatever wonderful delights your wallet can accomodate. Cobbler.. fresh fruit, pecan pir, homemade fudge and chocolate, and bast of all ... HOMEMADE PEACH ICE CREAM!
From Ham's... that puts me about 10 miles from home where I plan to go afterwards and passout for at least a week!

It promises to be a grand day, provided the weatherman is wrong about the thunderstorms. I hope to see Valks from all over the world.. I knoow thats a stretch, but it could haappen! I am already not sleeping nights, I am so excited. I look forward to seeing you all!

For the Southern riders (those not traveling on 380) the meeting point will be the Waffle House at the intersection of Hwy 80 and Belt Line Road in Mesquite.

The actual address for GPS users is
1825 N. BELTLINE RD
MESQUITE, TX 75149-171

The Waffle House is on the SW corner.  There is also a gas station so good point to top off your tank.

We'll travel on 80 to Terrell, then head north on 34 through Quinlan to Greenville.  The Honda dealer is on 34.  The ride from the Waffle House to Greenville is about an hour per Google maps.

If you want breakfast, be at the waffle house by 8:00am.  Official meet time is 8:30 with KSU at or around 9:00am.  That should put us in Greenville around 10am, where we can clean off the bugs and polish up the Valks before we "land" at 11:00.

Bring your sunscreen!

For those who plan to take the northern route (380 to Greenville), let's meet at the Taco Cabana in the southwest quadrant of 380 & I-75 (2005 W University, McKinney).

The question is when do we want to meet?  It's a 36 miles / 45 minute straight shot to Wally World from there, so KSU could be as late as 10:45 to get there at 11:30 for a wipe down and 12:00 move.  Or, we could meet earlier and take a meandering route to Greenville.

Headcount & Time suggestions, please...

The weather is not looking too bad - 70% chance of sunshine on Saturday!  Plan to stick with the early KSU time as there might be extended drying and polishing required after riding on wet roads.

I'll be at the Taco Cabana at 10:45, KSU 11:00 for the straight shot to Greenville.  That should put us at Wally World just before 12:00.

Rode out to dinner and just got home and out of the shower... now ready to pass out, but before I hit the sack( to get up early and go wrencing tomorrow0< I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to many people who really helped make today a great 1st "Landing". Daniel Meyer, I know you have a plate full and are trying to get ready for your big weekend coming up, thank you so very much for taking the time to come out today. It was great to see you. Jeff Latimer set up the "Ride For Kids" table and took pictures all afternoon, thanks Jeff for all you do! I never took an official count but we agreed that there were somewhere around or a little over 30 bikes in all. It was great to see a bunch of old friends and meet so many new ones. Oldman, thanks for coming out and bringing your friends. We enjoyed having you, maybe next time you can make the Orchard with us! The ice cream, by the way, was awesome! You guys are all awesome, thanks to Dave, Jim, Bob, Doc, RainMaker, and all of you that came out and supported the day. It was my first "official" lead on a VRCC ride, and I had a blast. As bad as I hate to see that beautiful Interstate of Jeff's go to Montana, It was great to meet a new friend in WineMaker, and look forward to many future visits.
I think I am rambling now and the fog is setting in my head... time for the sack ..  I know I left someone out and I sure dont mean to. Thanks again to you all for coming today, hope you enjoyed it and already look foreward to another one next year same time!

Goodnight, see you all at the wrench party!!

It was a nice way to spend a day and ride.  Such large gatherings of Valkyries are few and far between these days, so it was great to be part of the group.  Also a nice day with my old friend Randy who lives there and rode with us on his Ultra Classic.

Well done, T-Roy.  Great planning and execution.

Looking forward to the 2nd Landing of the Valkyries.
