Is being remade in Grainger Tx. .jpg) Me ,TxDeb, Miles and Peggy rode there and walked onto the set like we belonged there. .jpg) Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon were not on the set yet. Will a John Wayne movie without the Duke work?

No way in HELL could anyone ever replace the DUKE! No matter where they film it; who stars in it .... it can never be "TRUE GRIT" It is almost blasphemy to even contemplate such a thought!

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

I hope it is better than the original. I would never have watched the whole movie if not for John Wayne.

They are remaking them all.
I guess most of the good stories have already been told.
We're starting to see 3rd gen movies now even.

Jeff Bridges is one actor that would respect the duke, I think he will honor the Duke's memory. Wonder if Robt. Duvall will make a cameo appearance, Ned Pepper was one of his best efforts too. I suppse Matt Damon will play the ranger. Who has Kim Darby's part? Looking forward to it. hoser

I cant recall any remake that was better then the originals. Agree! Especially when they change the theme parameters to some current trendy cause (re: The Day the Earth Stood Still - yeah, aliens invade cuz of polluting the planet, right!) Ruins the whole premise of the original and trivialize it.
