If all goes well tomorrow morning I will be trading my Yamaha RSV for another Valk. This will make the 4th one I've owned. For some reason I can't stay away from them. I've owned 2 new bikes and 2 '07 bikes in the past year and haven't found one to compare with the Valks.

Always liked the look of the Venture. Never had the opportunity to ride one. Was a toss up when I purchased the Valk over the Venture (sans test ride). What's your beef with the bike? When time comes to update, was planning on taking a serious look. RSV - BMW - Victory - .... Curious. sheets

The RSV is a great bike. It's big and comfortable and has all the amenities of a good cruiser. I just don't care for a V engine. If Yamaha had taken the fuel injected 1700 from the new Vmax and put it in the Venture then it may be a different story. I like the Valk for it's smoothness and power....and the badass look of the thing. I have a feeling that 2010 will be the last Venture as we know it. I feel that Yamaha will follow the Kawasaki trend as with the Voyager. I think the Gen 3 Venture will be a Stratoliner gussied up and be called a Venture... if there will actually be another Venture. Not my cup of tea....I owned a Strat and totally hated the bike.....but that's just me.

I do not and will not understand why, some of you >>>own a VALK and then sell it just to go and buy another one just like the one you got rid of??? I bought mine in 1998 new,and have not even thought of selling it,was asked one time if I wanted to sell ,I said not really, but if you want it >>it will cost you 10 grand, needless to say that ended the conversation on that!! YOU HAVE THE BEST BIKE EVER MADE .. ..... so keep it ..........>>>>>>>>>>my 2 cents<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I can't count the number of people I've known who said they were going to sell/trade the Valk and get something different. I always tell them they'll regret it. 90% are back on a Valk.
I have non-Valks, too. They're great bikes. Lots of fun, etc. I love the change, but they can never replace my Valkyries.
Valkyries have soul. The rest are just motorcycles.

I must agree, I have had my 2000 Valk since new and never seriously thought of trading it in, I came from (younger years) the crotch rocket scene and I have never looked back, as a matter of fact my beloved Wife has threatened me that if I ever sell the Valk she will not ride with me anymore and the worst part is no more Nookie. I think I will keep the Valk.

I had my Valk for 13 years but had to sell it because it became too heavy (for me). Pushing it around played he** on my knees. Yeah, I know all about backing into the curb, etc.
My sons each still have Valks. Maybe I could ride theirs and get them to do the heavy work.
Of all the bikes that I've owned, the Valk was the best overall.

I couldn't agree more. After buying my 97 standard 2 summers ago I was hooked. Sold my Goldwing Sunday and replaced her with an I/S. These things are addicting. Ya gotta love em......... Without a doubt the last 2 bikes I'll ever own.

maybe it's me, but why do you keep getting rid of your valks? You obviously realize it's the bike for you, why don't you stick with it and save yourself the hassle of buying and selling?
