OK, lately I have been having a tapping noise from my valk underload...recent advice led me to the exhaust, I checked the bolts about 2 weeks ago...two were loose...so I snugged them up and the tapping went away. Today on the way home from work, same tapping noise...so i figured I would loosen all bolts and re-tighten sequencially to assure the seals were all the same...I got three loose and the 4th bolt was buggered up...busted it off...I got the rest of cleanly and re-inserted and torques properly, what I want to know, should I expect any problems if I ride?

I wouldn't think so. I just bought an IS with one of the header nuts missing, though the stud is still there. I haven't noticed any popping or tapping. My gas mileage has been outstanding as well (41.5 mpg last time I checked).

If Alph reads this, I think he has one of his broken off too. It'd be a beast to try getting that broken stud out of there...

Actually, they are usually not bad to get out...pull the pipe completely. The studs are bigger in the head then they are in the nut...so the break roughly even with the pipe...this leaves enough sticking out of the head to grab with a very good pair of vice grips.

I have some screw removal tools at work, so when it comes time to remove it I should be able to get the stud as it broke below the flange. I will let you all know how I make out when I get to work in the morning. Weather is going to be on the warmer side tomorrow.

Thanks guys, have a good nigh...
