4 degree trig

I purchased a 4 Degree trigger wheel over the Winter for my 98/tourer. I researched the pro and con views on going with a 4 or 6 . And settled on the 4. I talked with my mechanic, young guy he just returned from a 2 year Bike mechanics course in Florida. He got the concept of what I wanted done. My question is, the Mechanic asked is the stock wheel cut at a certain degree? More or less wanting to know how much of a change it would make. And which on is more of a change. Love the Bike want to be 100% before I do it. Like the idea of more low end pull.

The 4 degree wheel advances the timing 4 degrees throughout the advance curve. The 6 degree on the other hand....
Well, you get the idea.
