Great exhibit there at the Track.

This is what's left of a Car Michael Waltrip crashed at Bristol in practice.

Nothing really left of the cage, and no they did not cut him out of the crash, the car

disentegrated right before everyone's eyes.

Darrell Waltrip his brother went down to the track to get his brohters body out of the crash

nobody could survive this, well as Darrell Pulled the sheet metal away there was his

brother as usual smiling and said hey brohter I'm OK quit that crying.

A miracle.

I had never seen the car except in pictures but here it is at the Museum.

On a more recent ride in a Race Car. I took a ride on Saturday in a Ford Fusion.

Now this may not seem to much of an event.

But considering it was the Dale Jarrett Nascar Exp.

It was a little different than a street car.

600 hp of course becasue of the mandatory restrictor plates(damn things) we went a little slower

Only around 178 MPH.

Whew I want to do it again already.

Going to Kentucky Speedway Before Long to Drive one Myself.

May have to wait till after the Heart Thingie, but I am intending to do this.

May wait for Talladega to do it again.

Ole Gator that took my picture at the Track of me sqeezing my Lard Arse into the Car said it is the best track for a Rookie.

Who is he calling a Rookie, well he is right.

Turns out his Dad used to work at Y-12 in Oak Ridge and he (GATOR) was born in Oliver Springs Tennessee.

SMALL World ain't it.

He tried to stump me wiht a Trivia Question.

He Asked" Who drove a AMC Studebaker in the Modern Era to a win."

I had already told him my Dad used to work in the pits for a lot of the guys now retired form racing , he was referring to the AMC Matador that Bobby Allison fielded for one season and won a race or two , my Dad gassed that car in the pits so I had his question answered in a flash and he was flabergasted , he said no one ever answered that question rght.

He did not know he was asking the man who knew the man when he was the man.

You aint' Sxxx, until you/ve done 180 mph on a closed course on 31 degree banking.

I loved it, everyone should do it.

The Lady that just got out of the car before me was 63 Years old.

Made me feel a little silly, because I was getting a bit worried.

She liked it and I did too.

Big Al,  I highly reccommend getting behind the wheel if you get a chance.  I did 24+  laps around Pocono raceway - 60+ miles.  They put out a lead car and then you drive alone in a trailing car.  Helps you gain confidence and run a good line through the turns.
There are no speedometers in the car,  but you can get a rough idea of top MPH based on the RPMs you run in top gear.
On my last 8 laps,  top speed down frontstretch was pushing 170MPH...   what a rush.

I can only imagine being out there at @ 190mph with 42 other cars inches away.

Childs Play after riding with Coot, Duffy and Smokin Joe.

Yes I bet the pucker factor goes way up wiht the Veterans passing you and the Rookies not knowing which way to go.

It would be a Rush and then some.

Adrenaline is our middle name right, we ride motorcycles.

Thanks For the reply and yes if i live long enough i am intending with connections to be the Next

George Plimpton, if of course you remember him.

These men and the fans are what made Nascar great.

All are Momma's Boys now compared to these Guys.

Poser Steering , Cool Helmets, little sippy cups built into the car. Please.

These guys would lose ten pounds after one race. Sweat , Blood and tears built this sport.

No heros for me to watch on the Track anyomore so now I ride wiht Heroes on the Road

of Life.

Big Al,

If you are a fan of The Intimidator, perhaps you can help me out with something.

My father-in-law used to live in Talladega and go to the races all the time.  After he passed and we were cleaning out his house, we found this:

Any idea if it's worth anything?

Yes well any fan of Dale is a friend of mine.

But some people forget or don't want to admit he is dead.

But as far as your hat don't clean it up because it will be worth less if you do.

Go to a Dale Memorabilia Web Site and they will be happy to direct you in that manner.

Souvineers are not my area, I walked among these giants and shook all thier hands in person.

i never asked for a autograph but thanked them for what they did and what they gave

back to the fans in support of charities and such.

These were real people of integrity and that's what made the sport great.

A generation that will be missed, I don't know where in Hell's creation we are headed but

this ole world ain't long for a great big turn around.

The Lord may not be far away on making his promised return and the sooner the better.

Be ready folks it's going to happen.
