My house has recessed boxes under the vinyl soffits for the flood lights. I want to add more of them but I can't find any boxes. they are fully recess round boxes with a wide flashing ring around them to hide the cut. I can't find them anywhere.
They was a recent burglary a couple of houses down and I want to put up more security lights.
Valk number 2 has a home on the screen Lani until I finally get the additional 3 car garage built. I don't want it, or the VMax to come up missing.
Any Ideas?

Are they on the corners of the house? If so, you could take down the single headed light that you have and hang a double headed light (one each direction). Same hole, more light, less work.

Just a quick idea.

Jeff, my son's house was litteraly broken into last evening. Was up till 3:30 this morning and back out searching for more items at 6:30. Anyway, they weren't home. Don't know if lights would curtail a breakin. I think a better investment, if the cops have a good response time would be a security system. However, like in his case, he got home, found the window smashed on the front of the house, went in to check on the dogs, set off the alarm, yes he had to set it off, then called 911 as well, then called me. I was there 15 minutes before the first cop showed.
He rents and has tried to get the landlord to upgrade the security system to include window sensors and would pay the difference. Anyway, I'm thinking there are systems you can buy that would sound an audible alarm and maybe can wire it into some indoor and outdoor lighting that would flash on and off. Nothing like surprising someone. Floodlights with a sensor might help at night but in our neighborhood, there's been lots of daylight breakins. They wouldn't help at all. We had two on a Sunday morning a week ago. And it's gonna get worse.
Hope you find the right solution and never have to experience what we went through last night and will have to go through. We are pretty sure who did it. Now it's up to LEO to do their job and this time maybe the judge will throw the book at them and keep them behing bars.

Funny hing about that LEO response time. Yesterday I had a LEO come to do a VIN verification, I gave them the address to the house, and the directions to our house, because we are on a gravel two track. A while later I got a call to "step outside and meet the officer". Well... I was outside. So I went down the road to look for him. He was about a half a mile up the road. I told him I didn't have a bunch of confidence in them finding my house in an emergency, and said "how about if I just show you where the bodies are when you do get here... he said "that works for me".
Gotta love Florida.

My personal favorite for security lighting is high pressure sodium lights because they give a lot of light for low electrical cost (on 24 X 7 day/night sensors), and the light is soft yellow, not halogen or mercury vapor bright, buggy white.  Of course they are not made to fit your soffet cutouts, but I prefer to mount my sodiums at the peaks in front and low on the house in the back.  I run 35Watt fixtures on three sides and a 50 up front.  Wired to my front and back door light switches.  Bulbs are expensive, but last for up to 8 years (more like 5-6 usually).
