A friend just found a nice 97 Tourer that's up for sale. owner is asking 5900, KBB says 5700. It doesn't have unusually low mileage, but appears to have been taken well care of. It belongs to an older gentleman who wants to go smaller, lighter.
When looking to buy in this area of older bikes, how much do you guys and gals rely on KBB for guidance in setting/offering a price?

Thanks in advance.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Look at used HD's. KBB is way below then what they sell for. I guess what would you sell it for? Go from there.

I don't know nothin' about no KBB, but that's a reasonable price for a good Valkyrie... how good is good? "well taken care of" is the most important thing. Bag rails... other stuff? Red makes it worth more  Wink ...

Red aslo makes it slower!! Now if you could find a blue/creme.... cooldude
Price sounds good if it's in as good a shape as mentioned.

I sold my '97 low mileage Valk converted to Tourer last year for $6,000.  I'd say that if it's well maintained and has extra's,  etc, that's a fair price. Better high mileage with maintenance than low with none.

You'll get a much better idea here than Kelly's Blue Book!

I usually use NADA Guidelines to determine a base price and look at Cycle Trader for sale prices.
