Okay. Have my air horns installed, driving lights done, power plate is in place and now for what I thought was going to be the simplest, the Deer Alert,,, I can't seem to find a place to mount it.
If any of you have this on your Valks please attach a picture if possible. I have the optional p clamp. Thought I'd place it in the engine guards but it looks awkward.

I had a tough time finding a place to mount one on an Interstate. I decided to mounted it on the under side of the rear roll bar under the bag. I attached the wire to the bottom of the roll bar using a small amount of caulk, you have to look hard to see the wire. I mounted the switch under the key lock for the seat, its easy to reach. Some times I think it makes my bike look like "a grandpa's bike", but The deer out here on the West bank are every where. I'm not sure if it really works, any thing to get an edge.

I guess I should also mention that I have Valk Standard TRIKE. So I'm trying to find a spot forward of the front seat.

I have mine attached to the lower radiator screen bracket so it is on the front of the bike. I don't think it looks bad and having the alert gives me a great deal of confidence because of the reaction I see when I come upon deer.

Hef,
Is it possible for you to attach a picture? I'll check the area when I get home from work later.

Hey, my wife is from your neck of the woods. We're out there a couple times a year usually. They live in and around Cumberland.

Over the years there have been numerous articles regarding the deer alert and all
of the reports have said that it is bogus and does not work.
Being alert yourself and driving carefully at the times deer are moving is the best
safety practice.
As a side note, if you are passing deer on the road, scaring them could cause them to
run into your path. I've seen it happen more than once.
Best practice is to slow down and proceed quietly. This always works out best.

As reported before, my bump shop guys always get a laugh out of deer whistles. When doing the repairs from a deer strike, the owner always gets a new deer whistle in the deal. The best advice I have on deer is when you see one crossing, assume more are coming across behind the leader.
