ABATE, AMA, & MRF rep.

Back in March of 2008 I asked for prayers as I was having spinal chord surgery and I made it and was back on my I/S within six weeks to partcipate in the mug hand-off at the MI USA/ONT CANADA border.

I have had neuro-muscular issues for a few years but I've been working out at the gym for four or five days a week to build back muscles that had been atrophied due to the nerve signals not communicating with the associated muscules.

For the past several weeks my strength has started to diminish eventhough I kept pushing my self to get stronger. But I've noticed that my hands  and most of my left side getting shaky and my motor skills quickly failing. I tend to lose my balance and my left hand literily "locks up" and now I've noticed that my right hand is showing similar symptoms.

Friday my Neurologist gave me an EMG and I also got an MRI. The results are not good, but it explains the symptoms that I'm having. My spinal chord is again being occluded by my spinal colunm.

Two years ago I had a cervical lamectomy to remove certain bones in my spinal colunm to make room for my spinal chord. Now the spinal chord has no more room to expand and this has now limited what I can do.

I may have to stop riding, but in the past forty years it has been the most consistant part of my life. And it part of my wifes life due to her association with me. Last year we bought a "Toy Hauler" so that we can share our passion. But I'm at a loss with what I'm going to do.

What ever happens, we will be at IZX, and it may be the last VRCC event that I can attend. God bless all that have been my freinds, in real life and online.

Sorry to hear about the bad report, but whatever you do, don't give up!!! Riding may not be possible in the future but try to look at the really important things in life and focus on those. When my wife battled cancer for nine years and eventually succumbed I thought my life was over, but by focusing on my kids and grandkids and with the help of a Mighty and Great God, I found I was able to enjoy life once more. Please know that the prayer changes thing and prayers for you and yours will continue. May God's richest blessings be yours. Hef
