Can any body tell me if the rider and passenger seat from a 97 Standard fit onto a 2000 Standard?
TIA

Yes, but why would you want to?
The saddle for the Standard was significantly improved in 2000. The older saddles are junk.

Can the 2000-1 standard seats be installed on a 99 I/S? are they better, or is the I/S seat about the same?

Due to the increased capapcity of the I/S tank, it is taller and longer; therefore, the Standard/Tourer front seat is too long in the nose to be used. In addition, the stock I/S is one piece where the Standard/Tourer is two piece.

The mount points match, but due to the size difference in the tanks, the nose of the saddle will be "scrunched".
They're close to the same. I like the 2000+ Standard OEM saddle a bit more than the Interstate OEM saddle, but it's close.

Have a front Standard seat (dont know year- ebay) on my 2000 I/S for supervalk.... goes in tight , but doesn't look scrunched...
I think it has more room than the IS seat.
