i am running a metzler on the front and have aquired a extra rear wheel and want to put a 200 mm rear on it, i cant decide which one but think i have it narrowed down to the avon cobra or bridgestone battlax  Undecided

dunlop is out of the question and with metlzler im not sure i havent put many miles on the front yet but the wheel i just bought had a metzler on it with under 5000 miles and is already gone.

im not sure if there are any combinations the metz front tire would not be good with, but i know it works good with the Goodyear TT  Grin

If that Metz on the extra wheel is a stock size 180, it's no wonder that it's almost gone at 5k miles. They're a softer compound and the 180 just doesn't deliver. The extra size gained with the 200 I've always had good miles with. You wouldn't think 20mm would make that much difference but it does. The one 200 Metz in back that didn't get ruined by road debris actually was over 12k when I changed it out as a set at the same time I replaced the front.

Just my experience, nothing more.

thanks john

yes it was a 180/70, and the way the guy talked it may have been run underinflated at times, so it may have lasted longer if taken care of
