First of all I would like to say hello. I currently own a VTX1300C and I am hoping to be trading it in on a 2000 Valk Interstate blue/silver this coming week. The bike is being traded in on a new wing from the original owner. Is there any thing I should look for in particular? It has 62000 miles, trailer hitch, chrome luggage rack, chrome around the saddle bags, baker air wing, smoked tinted shield. Any input would be greatly appreciated Grin.

62% of the way thru it's breakin period.  cooldude

Rear splines are about the most common issue I think.  Lack of proper lube wears them fast.  Ujoints.  Wheel bearings.  Valve lash adjustment.  All common stuff, easily corrected.

Good luck.  Welcome to the VRCC!!

See if you can negotiate as part of the sales deal for a complete fluids change.  Just an idea.  And if they can lube the rear splines with moly..... go for it.  Same set up on the VTX only on the opposite side of the bike.

You are familiar with the choke lever for your VTX 1300, but the Valkyrie requires a little harder push (just so you don't forget).

I have my VTX and my Valk.... each are a little different ride.   Congrats and enjoy.....

See if it has a CB installed. That's a valuable aftermarket part, either for your use or to re-sell to offset the cost of the bike.  cooldude

Thanks for all the info so far. Yes it does have the CB already installed. Does anyone know what size speakers will fit in the fairing and trunk?  Smiley

O yeah and the cam shaft rubber drive belt needs to be inspected at 100,000 miles.

But just inspected not replaced.

Wow that sure is long time.

Take a test ride and make sure it is what you like and that it fits you properly.I don't know what the stealer is charging you but after determining the relative value on ebay (including miles, condition, aftermarket parts-seat,chrome,etc.),then make an offer.
60k miles isn't a lot for a Valk but it is a lot of perceived miles on a bike and should be discounted considerably for those miles. It's hard to find a Valk on ebay with that many miles, although it should deter you from purchasing it, but it should be reflected on the price--negotiate,negotiate.
