If any of you put together a ride in that area, you should check out the Chattooga River and Bull Sluice. Ran section three years ago in a canoe but portaged this one. Looking back, should've went for it.

I'm only a good enough swimmer not to sink... my buddy Lee took us up there (he "knows what he's
doing " uglystupid2 )  and showed us how to dive right into heart of bull sluice (diving upstream) from
a certain perch and get a heck of a ride... my cousin Bill was up there and got caught in a hydraulic
and is probably only alive because he had the presence of mind to crawl out of it on the bottom...

When I'm not with Lee, I prefer to bob around in the still pool just a little bit downstream...

I rode up to Clayton today to take my Mom her Mother's day card/gift.....I ate at the La Cabana and saw the store next door to it where you said ya'll ate.....I wasn't brave enough to try the "authentic" stuff just yet.....but the Restaurant's food was good..... cooldude.....I had two carafes of what appeared to be homemade salsa...it was GOOD!!......and then they had my food out there FAST..before I could eat the second bowl of salsa....I had a beef burrito, chicken taco, refried beans and rice.....and a bowl of diced tomatoes.....with a Coke.....total cost....$8.03....$2 cheaper than my favorite place here in Athens.....left the guy a $2 tip....he was on the ball.... cooldude

I'll be headed back that way tomorrow with Scooter......the Boss gave me tomorrow off.....wooohoo!!.... cooldude cooldude cooldude.......It was PERFECT for riding today...clear and a cool 72 degrees....I could see the mountains 30-40 miles before I got to them.....

Any time I am near Clayton I make it a point to do the Dillard House!  Great food and plenty of it!

My first real job was at the Dillard House....summer of 1985....I was 15 and in charge of pulling the weeds and planting all the flower beds there.....my Mother and two Sisters have also worked there before......

25 years later......I'm still in the Landscaping business...... Shocked
