Hi All

My one manifold is leaking - after a ride I see a drop of brown fluid in the area where the manifold intake attach to the engine case. It does not seem to affect the performance of the bike, but it is annoying to wipe up the drop all the time.

Can one just take the manifold off to replace the gasket/o-ring - or do you need a special sealant or something else.

I would go ahead and replace all the o-rings.  They are cheap enough and if one is bad...they are probably all bad.

You do not have to remove the carbs or airbox to do this but it does helps to remove the airbox.  You can loosen the clamps at the carbs, remove the bolts on the intake, lift the carb a little and work the intake runner out.  Install is the opposite.

The intake runner o-rings are very easy to replace. Just loosen the band clamp, remove the two retainers and the runner will come right out/off.. The o-rings are a #122 or #123 [I forget which].. However, are you sure its that/those o-ring thats causing the problem?? Fuel could be coming from above and just puddling on the head near the intake..

nope, it is from the bottom of the manifold - it sneaks a drop - you can actually see it from the exit point...

I think I will replace them all, the bike has 100000km on, so I guess it is time...

The size is a #123. You can find them locally in a seal and/or hydraulic supply store. Get Viton or silicone and they'll last longer than Honda's Buna rings. My last batch cost about $11 for 3 sets.
