I would think “home country” means ancestral or family home. My Father-in-law refers to Germany as his home country, since his parents and older brother were born there. He is the first born American in his family, and yes they spoke exclusively German until about 1942. I find it interesting that these “birthers” as they’re called have so far failed to produce a valid Kenyan or other foreign birth certificate for President Obama. It’s easy to claim a lack of evidence is evidence, but it’s better explained here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance

It’s easy to claim a lack of evidence is evidence, but it’s better explained here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignoranceI guess I am a "Birther" and proud of it but I must admit that statement could be taken both ways. I had a pre-law professor once tell us something like: “I didn’t eat a hot dog today” His point was that it is very difficult to prove a negative; it is much easier to disprove a positive in that to prove a negative someone would have to observe him for the full 24 hour of the day and verify that he did not eat a hotdog. But to disprove his statement only one person would have to observe him take a single bite out of a hot dog. As for his birth certificate, what concerns me is why did he order ALL RECORDS pertaining to his birthplace SEALED? What does he have to hide? And let’s not say he is entitled to his privacy… No he is not entitled to his privacy on matters like this. He is the purported President of the United States. He gave up his rights to privacy when he ran for office. I agree he should have some privacy on personal matters but not matters that question his right to be in office. He should be forced to produce the documents. As for difficulty finding evidence in Kenya, I believe he is the most powerful man on the earth I think he could quite easily make things go away and people be quiet. If I was president and I was asked to produce my birth certificate I would happily do so. I wouldn’t even try to hide the fact that I was born and raised in Alabama. Tom

I'm not a PresBO fan.
Bill 'n Hillary would NOT have let anything like a dodgy birth certificate remain hidden.
If there was one I strongly believe she would now be El Presidente.

That very thought has crossed my mind but I still want to see it with my own eyes. Just like I want to see the 2nd oath of office that was done in private after he so called accidentally botched the 1st public one. I have a hard time believing that a man who is SO ELEGANT with words and is such a powerful orator would botch something up that he knows what the words are in advance. I could be wrong but didn't he take the second oath on the Koran? I'm not a racist, but I am a Christian. I don't like his white side either! Tom

so this means at 18 years old she could have joined the military and died for our country? (not that she would have) ,but, she could not have an American child ?
guess that makes me a non-American, i was born when my mother was 17 in 1961 ?

It seems to me that the reason he doesn't provide full proof of his being born here is to get the fringe element all fired up. If he can make a certain group of people to seem like a bunch of kooks and then try and lump in some of the regular groups of people, IE far right republicans, he can swing popular opinion his way. I don't know, just a thought.

You may not be far off in that thought. I suspect every move that man makes, every movement of his mouth, every breath he takes is orchestrated in such a way as to maximize votes for himself. After all, he is a politician. Either that, or his birth situation didn't meet the exact qualifications for becoming a US President and he and his organization just didn't want to share that little tidbit. Just saying. Oh, almost forgot......I didn't ride to work today because it is raining again, and I'm a fair weather rider on work days.

the statute reads that when a legal resident of the united states gives birth outside of the country a birth certificate must be filed with a hospital within three months of the birth. one of the parents must be a legal citizen of the United States and be of 21 years of age. Since his mother was the legal citizen and was under the age of 21 he is not considered a citizen and thus disqualified to be president.... Also let us not forget that young barack went to school in indonisia, the country of his fathers herritage. On the paperwork for his enrollment says his birth country is indonisia, not the U.S.A.

think Gen. McChrystal nailed this one. There is going to be one long line. Best Quote of 2009
The General is a quick thinker..
President Obama was having that one, lone brief conversation this year with General McChrystal about Afghanistan .
Things were obviously not going the way the General had hoped. Obama could sense this, and told him, "I bet when I die, you'll piss on my grave." To which General McChrystal answered, "No sir, I've always said that when I get out of the Army, I'll never wait in another line."

Can someone provide an official government link that shows an age requirement to "transfer" citizenship or the three month cutoff?

No fan of Obama here, but I believe it was the Justice that screwed up the oath and I recall Obama giving a smile and a nod, trying to correct it.
I also recall that they said his name 3 different ways the day he took office. Once when he was announced, when he took the oath, nad then when he was presented as President....
Barack Obama Barack H. Obama Barack Hussein Obama
I can't recall the order, but I clearly remember the three being said.
