Drove over to  the Hillman MI blessing of the bikes today from Boyne City.  Got there a little late, the blessing was over but the crowd was still there.  About 150 bikes in the city parking lot.  I turned on the street to park and a lot of heads turned and stopped talking.  I drove by a bunch of riders and all were looking at the 97 Black/yellow valk with Champion bags, corbin dual seat/dual back rests/trimmed in yellow, Velocity stacks, etc.  I parked by the curb (they were still looking) and a lady came right over from her husbands Harley dresser and said "wow, you don't see many these any more, it sure is nice - can I take some pictures?  She took a few of the side profile, back (with dragon insert in passenger back rest), and of course the "dark side" tire.

Right behind here another guy came from across the street and I told him about the bike.  Another guy came by and saw the "dark side" tire and said "I saw a lot of Valkyrie videos on  youtube" I wanted to look at yours.  I had a little lunch and left with a big smile.

I agree the Valkyrie sure is a head turner.  I am invisable when on my Goldwing, but never when on the ' Valk.' And I agree the 'Bumble-Bee', sure gets the looks. It is always a head turner.

Happened to me this evening. A guy walked from two rows over in the WallyWorld parking lot to ask questions & compliment the Valk.
Thirteen years & 100K miles later & it's still a stunner.  cooldude

I love these type of stories.

I think all of us have several of them.

I had a similar thing a few weeks ago. I stopped to get something to eat at a local Taco Joint near my house. I was walking out a guy and his wife were walking in. Now I am not stereotyping here but he was long haired lots of tats, and yes one of them was a harley tat,( so I assume he is a Harley rider) he stopped walked over to me and his wife was yelling at him to come on ( i guess she was really hungry) He looked at her yelled at her, " Hunnie do you know what that is, she said I don't care, he was like that is a Valkyrie, The best of the best" he then looked at me and said man what an awesome ride my friend. Enjoy it and god is she beautiful....WOW I thanked him and fired her up and he just smiled and gave me the thumbs up(and I even only have factory pipes...he stood there until I pulled out onto the street to ride away......wow did I feel good....

Ain't it the coolest thing when that happens?  coolsmiley  It's always fun, too, when you're sliding on by and their eyes are pulled down to the engine. Glad you had a good time, Jerry. Hope you're planning on coming over for the Q in de Woods next Saturday.

I had it happen to me 3 times today on the Blue and Pearl Standard.  I had it set up solo, and had everything stripped off, no shield, no bags... nothin'.

I went to the auto parts store... and someone talked to me for a while.  I stopped at the hardware store... same story, and again at the gas station, and they were at it again.

There are worse things in life than to be envied.  I did the nickel trick 2 times today, and got about 43 compliments from those 3 stops.

'The Nickle Trick'...  Astounding other riders for over a decade  cooldude

I had not done it in quite some time, but have had the chance twice, in the past week or so...  Love the way it draws a crowd, and the way (mostly) HD riders walk away, shakin' their heads  Wink
