I was riding with some folks yesterday and one of them told me I had a headlight out. I have a 2000 Interstate with dual headlights. The right light had the high beam burned out. I took the fairing off this evening and took the bulbs out.  The bulbs were Stanley 12V  45/45W . I went to Wal Mart, Advance Auto, and AutoZone and could only find  12V 60/55W bulbs. I didn't get them because I was concerned about the higher wattage creating more heat and possibly damaging the plastic lense over the headlights. Anyone have thoughts about this? What do you use?  TIA

For future reference you do NOT have to pull the fairing off to change the bulbs.

The first time can be intimidating, but once you figure out just what you are doing it gets MUCH easier.

Check the tech section for detailed instructions.

But, charliemac, it is not that hard to remove the fairing either.  The regular bulbs work fine.  Congrats.

See you at Inzane again?

Thanks everyone. I eventually figured out that I didn't need to remove the fairing but I had a "mess" of wiring that needed to be removed where a previous owner had installed a satellite radio.

MP......yes, have reservations..see ya in Michigan !!!
