Was released from U of M hospital late yesterday. Caught me/us quite off guard. I was supossed to get in hospital PT/OT but I guess our insurance company didn't feel it necessary (regardless of Dr.s orders) and I now have visiting nurses and home based PT/OT (with limits of course).

Well,....I'm home and I hope my wife can put up with me. The good news is that my left hand is beginning to work again and I'm regaining more use of m left arm.

51 Staples on the Outside for Closure.

When you get your bill tell us how much that works out per staple.

Fast Healing for you Brother.

Is my wish and prayer, keep your spirits up by thinking happy thoughts.

Count my blessings is what I do.

I can't or rather Doctor's tell me I am not suppoed to ride for another 5 1/2 Months.

We are in sort of the same boat on riding, I know you think you may have to give it up though(BUMMER).

Get Well soon.

Heal fast!

I have had the honor (??) of three back surgeries and they used staples on one of them.  They removed them with wire cutters - - snip, snip.

For length you got me beat. My back surgery had a much shorter cut.  Hope you have good results, sounds like it's working for you already.  Heal fast!

We should form a zipper club.  Nothing quite compares to being darn near cut in half, gutted and then sewn back together again.

They cut me open in 2005 and took out a kidney.

Trust me on this.......they yank those staples out with nothing more than a big pair of needle nose pliers.  They just grab and pull.

It's a good thing you won't be able to see it coming.   2funny

Don't let them sheet ya on the staples.

They have a special tool and ya no feel much.

The pliers look like a tuning fork with a solid flipper that goes down between the tuning fork and spreads the staple.   When it comes out it looks like a 3 or an E.

I've had stitch removal that hurt a lot worse than the staple removal.

On my belly, there was 34 stitches, that hurt like 3477 during removal.

The staples, I put my leg on the leg bracket of the table and all I heard was snick, snick, and in short order she said you can get down now.

My front zipper they used butterfly band aids.      Used staples on the 1st closure, and when they went back in to close up the 1st surgeons ferk up, they butterflied me shut.....

What did you have done?  I had a multi-discectomy and subsequent fusion with titanium plate, cadaver bones, and some of my own stem cells.  I had this done about three years ago and all is well-well-almost-my range of motion has obviously been affected.  I'm not supposed to look up at the sun for hours anymore.
