I just got done replaceing the bulbs on my Interstate.
If you use the adapter rings make sure that when you
seat the bulb tight to the bucket. I just had to go grt a cup of coffee
and come back to fight the snap ring. Now that the bulb is in there tight
      everything went just great.
Next question, do the Japaneae have smaller haands?
P.S. Thanks Raymond for the pictures.

What good are they?  I replaced the ones on my IS with H-4's.  Broke the bottom two tabs off, went in fine, tight, work good.  So, what is the purpose of using the adapters?  I had them on the bench, but could see no advantage to using them.

Never used the adapters, come to think of it don't think I've ever seen one...  crazy2 I just bend the 2 lower tabs back and install. No issues what so ever.  cooldude

my guess is reduce vibration (being anchored at three places instead of one) and

maybe centering the bulb in the proper position in the reflector.

just guessing.  i use them. Smiley

I have read in other threads that without the ring the light "could" be miss-aligned and the head light will need to be adjusted (too high) if it is.

Now if this is so, why can't we been the tabs in, and if they make contact with the housing/bulb, cut them off and then pinch flat, so they can be mounted smooth with the house?

Whatever works for you is fine by me.  I use the adapter rings.  Put in Silverstars a few years ago and been great since.

From your picture, looks like you need 4 adapters. Both those ladies are on HI beam...
