I may be wrong but it looks the the Velocity stacks are starting to be discontinued.  Undecided Direct Line seems to be the only source at present and as you may have figured,, they're not cheap!  tickedoff

So,, if you were planning on adding these, you might want to get a set now before they go the same way as the braided lower radiator hose.

Sure hate everytime someone has to post this type of info. we all want the valkyrie to go on forever, and some will go on for a long time . but the facts are some parts are getting scarce and it may get harder to have that pristine example of one of hondas fineist motorcycles . I have put a way some spares ,but some parts are just costley to do that. So heed the mans warning . get um while there hot..

I wish I could find a braided lower radiator hose.

About a year ago, there was some discussion that a braided hose could be purchased from either Andy or Ecke over in Germany.  Cost was right at $100.  Here is the thread:

Here is an old post on another board with more items for sale:

Finally, a photo of NightRiderF6's bike:

Thanks sgt, they actually are  stainless steel sink strainers froms lowes home inprovement store,  they fit perfect ,  1 1/32 size, just drop um in , give it a tap and they will not fall out. cost about 2 bucks each. I put some green foam under each one and it looks like a filter in there , I have never had 1 person ever question if the stacks were real and functional..

I chose to braid my own radiator hoses. I got a engine braiding kit for cars at Autozone. I used the braiding from this and then modified the chrome ends in the kit to fit the hoses. Then I found these slick hose ends from a company named Pi-thon. What I understand is that the company is gone. Have not been able to find them again. With modifications you could use the ends from the kit and they would look just fine. I would be happy to show you how to make the modification to the ends. PM me if you want more info....

By the way. There's currently a set of Velocity Stacks up for bid on Ebay. They're currently at $182.50 with 4 more days to go. These can still be had ( I think ) at Direct Line parts for around $169.00

======================

 tickedoff

I was just told by another member that Direct Line doesn't have these in stock. I'll be calling them later to verify. If this is true, it really won't surprise me. They pulled the same crap with the lower radiator hose and the aeromac risers. They list the product, allow you to pay for it but never advise you that it's not in stock or even available any more. You have to call them to find out.

If this proves to be true again it'll be the LAST time I deal with that company!!!!! Take about shitty customer service!  tickedoff

In addition to the source in Germany, I got an email from Cruiser Customizing earlier this week that says they are about to start selling the Two Brothers Braided radiator hose again.  Following is the link:

I'm not a fan of velocity stacks, not my preference. to each their own. But if they aren't going to offer them for Valk specifically anymore then it does leave one wondering, what else will fit?  What other bikes could we buy kits for (maybe multiple kits) to get six stacks that will fit.
Hmmm.
The questions of the universe must be pondered.

Hell,,, I'll call Cruiser Customizing today!!!!! Great find!!!!! Always wanted that braided rad hose!!!!!!!!  cooldude

By the way, here's an update in the Velocity stacks. Direct Line Parts "IS" out of stock! The sales rep I spoke to said they have a tentative time frame of another 4 weeks to get a new shipment. I had told him that the rumor was that they're not being manufactured any more. He said he would inquire with his company's buyer to see if this is the case. I'll post again when/if I get a response from him.  coolsmiley

How about this?  Available at pretty much any parts store(Crankcase breather).  Take the hose off the back, apply some double sided 3M molding tape, and stick on.  I once had a set on my Std, and had a total of $40 in them.

I got mine at O'Reillys a few years back.  They were hangin on a rack with a bunch of chrome dress-up doodads.  They didn't have six in stock, but they ordered them for me.  Just your basic chrome crankcase/valve cover vent filter.

I did exactly the same thing.  O'Reilly's only had one in stock, but they ordered the other 5 in a couple days.
