Hey all,
I was having a problem with my front brakes, when I applied the brakes the lever it was not a smooth pull, it was jerky, almost like you were applying the brakes in stages. The first part wasn't enough brake but if you pulled harder it jumped to being too hard.
Anyway, I decided to rebuild the master cylinder and when I did I noticed that the rubber disc that goes on the end of the spring was a lot smaller that the original. When I put it together it was leaking past the outer boot with no pressure being built up at all. I check the part number and it is right 45530-MA4-671. I have never rebuilt a master cylinder before so if you have any input it would be appreciated. Thanks and don't forget to thank a Veteran this weekend. Scott T

.....say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."
Isaiah 35:4

I know who wins in the end.

Do you have stock or aftermarket levers?  Some aftermarket levers will raise a divit on the plunger going into the master cylinder.  As a result, when you apply brakes, the contact point on the lever will hang up on the divit until more pressure is applied, then you've applied way more pressure than you intended.
