First: ran into a guy on a '97 Black and Yellow Valk very clean and well kept bike.  He was from a town called Cuero about 30 miles from here.  Not a member but he said he got on here a few times.

Second: I'm glad I read the story a couple of months ago from a member about how these bikes roll over if you lose balance.  I think his involved alcohol and at a rally of some kind.

My experience didn't involve alcohol, until after, and it wasn't at a rally but luckily in my shop were noone could see!

I removed the National Cycle hard bags and brackets off my Suzuki C50 and installed them on the Valk, needed a little "bohemian riggin" to the brackets (I'm too cheap of a Bohemian to buy new brackets).
As I was backing this thing off my Harbor Frieght ramp (manual foot pump, again cheap bohemain) the kickstand caught on the ramp and threw the balance off to the other side and away she went!!

After all settled down I noticed it was resting on the front engine guard and the right hard bag that I just got through installing!!! GREAT!!!

Amazingly once I righted the bike there was only a scratch on the bottom side of the bag.  I'm now really impressed with the durability of the bags.

Besides the small damage to the bag (and my pride) the windshield got pushed over a bit cause it contacted a roll around table (another HF item) before it went to the ground.

Got it cranked up and it seems as good as before.

Lesson learned!!

Yesterday about two minutes after I snapped this pic, Kim got on her Valk to leave. When I told her we needed to wait another few minutes for the rain to slack up, she shut off her bike & promptly fell over to her left.  Shocked
Yep... the old fergot to put the kickstand down trick! uglystupid2
No harm done as it was a slow motion fall, she ended up on her back, off the bike laughing her head off. The Valk did it's usual engine guard/bag guard no harm done position & Kim was OK. cooldude
It does happen.

I've gotta be the champ of damage done on a fall over.  Interstate was parked sideways behind my classic 66 Mustang in the garage.  Went out in the morning, rear tire had went flat overnight on the IS, causing it to fall onto the trunk of the Mustang, busted the fairing, had to replace the shell, damage 1500 dollars.  I walked by it and barely brushed it, heard the noise when it fell.  Ruined paint and put small dent in the trunk lid of the Ford, damage 350 dollars.  All due to the kickstand holding the bike in too much of a vertical position.  I removed 3/4 inch form the middleof the kickstand.  I was covered by insurance, by the way.  Cost me 250 bux for the deductible.  Do not know why the kickstand was like that,  I should have modified it before that happened.  I'm a dumbass.   uglystupid2  hoser

You ridin' down??
We are about 1 1/2 hours NW of the MouseHouse. We've stayed in Marathon a couple of times with the bikes. It's a great ride down.
This is in Key Colony Beach.

We also stayed at the Banana Bay Resort the year before that. A lot more relaxed than staying in Key West.
