. ...30  bikers...18 bikes...2 cars...one Schwinn Bicycle...and a dog named Millie..

...thats the way the 6h Annual ..Q in de Woods...started out. ..

...let me say that in my humble opinion...and Chili definitely shares this sentiment with me...this was with out a doubt...THE BEST ...Q in de Woods...Yet !


....usually the week leading up to this Q is filled with anticipation..filled with anxiety...mainly over...what will the weather be like ?!?!


...but not this year...this year would be different...last year all of Michigan waited for...spring...it never came...then summer...it skipped us by also...it was just one long ...cool...cold..rainy...March to September....

....but this year is definitely starting out fine...it was sunny and in the 80,s all week long, leading up to Memorial Day and our Q....and the day of the Q...Saturday...it was sunny and almost 90 degrees.....

....Chili and I were doing our usual...hurry up and try and get...Everything...done....which if ya ever threw a big Q...ya know is almost impossible...and to make things worse...Chili,s son had moved out back in January...which gave us even more work to do....


...but we did have a God Send this year...our good friend Black Dog...had decided to make the Q this year and ride all the way from good ol Wisconsin to experience it...he wanted to know if he could hang out at our place for the weekend...and we were only too happy to have him stay with us...and try out our new Guest room....little did he know...(or maybe he suspected)...that little nicety would come with a price....we out him to work..


...yep...next morning Chili ran out to get a few of ...those things you ALWAYS forget...and on the way back she stopped at Mickey D,s....and grabbed us all some McBreakfastes....after chowing down and gulping copious amounts of coffee...we all got down to it....Chili busy in the kitchen whipping up some of her bodacious recipes...and Steve and I out back...setting up chairs..tables...sound system...and all kinda ...utter stuff...  


.....well...at 12 Noon....the air began to fill with that sweet sound that I have come to recongize almost anywhere....smooth 6 cylinder engines...tuned pipes...definite attitude........the Valks and others... began to show up..


. ...And this year we had something .. ~New~. ..A Custom Made Banner for the Q in de Woods....a gift to us from a very good friend...Tony Z

..Tony..I cant even begin to thank you enough...this Banner is just too sweet...Thank You...Very...Very Much !!!! ..  





. ...and before ya knew it...the kitchen was a Buzzzzz...with activity....that one thing I love about all our good friends...they show up and immediately dive in and begin to help out...and it makes things so much easier and smoother...





...and soon the grilles were lit...and the party was on !!!  





. ...and in the kitchen I was busy with the help of my little friend Fran...making up some....Fresh BABzzzzz.....


...I mean...this is what they came for...Right ???  





. ....speaking of helping...we knew the "fixins" were gonna be exceptional...cuz none other then our good friend...Tony Z...a Chef du jour..in his own right...was sauteeing up some vadalia onions and Portabello Shrooms...to go with the bacon that Tammi had cooked up...perfectly  





 ....meanwhile...Black Dog and I had manned the grilles...and the BABzzzz were a Sizzzzzzzlinnnnnnnn..  





. ...and before long, folks were diving in and making up some bodacious platters....thats our good friend Slyk Willy...showing em how its done....not only is he a Master Q,er in his own right...but that boy can eat !! ..  





...and soon the air was filled with the sound of laughter and talking ...as good friends enjoyed each others company...and the day..





. ...now...here,s one woman...I would NEVER mess with !!


....did I tell ya ...I REALLY dig them shades Lara ?!? ..





 ...we even had a...~ Special Guest ~

...yup...Therapist hiz Bad Self...finally made one our Q,s...and
we were very happy to have him...and I think I made...another "believer"...in the Big Azzzzz Boiga !  





....even our newest Member to Wolf Klan...and a long time friend..Marty...made the scene....

...Hey Marty...how,s that sghetti ?. ..Marty ?...Marty ?? ...chew Marty ..Chew !! ..





. ....and I was REALLY diggin this guy...this is Scott...owner of Millie the Dog....and Im pretty sure he was THE ONLY...person to come back for..Seconds...and have Two BABzzzzz...


....Rock on with yer Bad Self Scott !!! ..    





. ..and speakin of..Believers...we couldnt have pulled this whole thing off...with out the help of our ...Good Friend Black Dog..

...thanks a million Steve...you,re help was definitely appreciated..  





. ..and...ofcourse you know this Ol Wolf was gonna be eattin Reaaaaaaalllllllllll Goooooooooodddddddd...


..I fixed me up a BIG ol Platter...with Alllllllllll the "Fixns" ..  





....even Millie was kickn back..."Chillin"..  





 ...Mean while...out front...the street was gleaming with some shiny ..sleek machines..





....and good ol Therapist was retiring after many years of dealing with all us crazies out in society.....he,s a great guy...but I still dont understand why he just ...slowly shook his head....and walked away...when I asked him if there was...any hope for me..  


...I know I speak for everyone Ron...when I say Congratulations...now go enjoy some of that...endless wind...you,ve earned after all these years..





....welp...all good things have to come to an end...and our Q is no exception...it was a great day of good friends ..just hanging out and enjoying some good food and each others comapany....

....good ol Millie climbed into her ..custom trailer...and got ready to hit the road...I asked her if she didnt want to hang out at the fire pit later on...but she just "woofed"...and said she had a...Hot Date with a Poodle..  





 ...Chili and I would like to take a moment ...to "Thank" all of you that came and made our day special....we really enjoyed everyones company and hope that you all had a good time at our little ...Q in de Woods..


...we,d also like to give a..~ Special Thanks ~  ...to those that bought us these fine gifts....Scott and Lori....thanks for the sign...we will hang it with honor in our kitchen....Therapist...thanks so much for the Merlot wine...Im sure my lil wino Chili n me will dig it..  ...and Dennis...thank you to you and Tammi for those two fine bottles of....Dragons Milk Ale...you KNOW ..they will be out to good use...Hell..I might even share...naaaahhhhh ..  ...and to our good friend Tony Z...a guy I knew I liked and wanted to get to know better from the first minute I met him....Thank You my friend for our new ..Q in de Woods...Banner...AND...the very Cool Sign...to go with it...we are definitely official now...and will always fly that Banner at our Q with the honor and prestedge that it deserves.....thanks Tony..

Looked like a very nice 'que, good turn out, and good pics. I can imagine all the work that both of you, David and Faith, have put in to make it work!

Our ACDC is coming up on the 26th. It doesn't look like the turnout is all that great so far. The ones that are coming are the best though, as all VRCC'rs are. Indiana has a long way to go to catchup with Michigan on activity now that the CBR is kaput.  "Nuff said.

. ...Michigan is definitely filled with good folk. ...dont sweat the head count on your ride....first time we had our Q ...think 7 or 8 people attended....you,ve been on our deck before...everyone who showed up fit on our deck...and our patio set accomodated them all quite nicely. ...last few years we had around 60 people attend. ...but I like it better when its more like this year....30 people seems to be just about right, where CHili and I dont have to work...too hard.....we attended Hot Glue and Flamingo Babes ...GOTF this year and he said the turn out was .."lite"...compared to last year...." only 130 people "....thats a hundred more then came to ours...and I am still amazed that neither he nor Charlyne seemed .."stressed"....on the contrary...they were both just kickn back and enjoying themselves as much as the crowd...all the time getting the things that needed to be done....done......so just relax....concentrate on showing your guest...a good time.....thats what will bring them back next year...along with a few more folks that they told ...what a good time they had at your ride the year before..

Want to thank you two again, here on the big board.  It was very thoughtful of you to recognize my retirement...the first official day of which was spent with a wonderful group of friendly folks.  You and that Chili girl couldn't have been better hosts.  Sure look forward to visiting with you both at InZane.

The Dancing Bull is a very nice Merlot (not necessary but much appreciated) !. This was a pasta and marinara week so I'm afraid both bottles are gone already.    Thank you so much! We enjoyed them tremendously and I'm always looking for new brands to try
