Can the Vortex be updated or is it up to each member to take care of their own info? I can supply one person's number who no longer owns a Valk and another who moved out of state several years ago. Just asking as I forgot it even existed last week when I had a dead bike. I was reviewing the list and noticed these two needed updates.

http://www.f6rider.com/Valk/vortex.htm

It's a database of VRCC members willing to provide mutual assistance to other members stuck on the road...

Unfortunately, the data in it has become rather stale over the years, as there's no auto-prune or way to verify that the person is still willing to provide assistance (Or still where they were when they signed up.)

Perhaps someone could volunteer to contact those listed on VORTEX and see if they're still willing and able to help.  You don't need to own a Valk to be willing and able to assist a Valk rider in need, so just because someone no longer has their Valk doesn't necessarily mean they need to be removed from the list.

If no one else is willing (and it doesn't need to be done overnight.

I guess it's up to Scott or Willow et.al. to authorize it?

Or maybe we can make another one. Vortex 2 and we can all resign up.

Give me a shout Carl (or anyone else) if you proceed with this - I'd be happy to help.

Has anyone tried BAM? National network with over a million members. Been around nearly 25 years. Operators available 24-7. I joined several years ago and fortunate not to have to find out how well they work. Talked to the operator a few minutes ago. When you call with a situation, give them the deatails, location, etc and they go to work calling people in the data base and share info with the volunteer and you. Free to join.

I agree with this as I've assisted folks from 2 forums ago, 2 bikes ago. Even thought they needed the jack adapter for a Nomad til I showed up with the tools and jack to find it was a Boulevard. I'll help ANY biker I can.
