HD Deuces...at least, they were sold to me as such...new...from a local dealer...but Custom Chrome also made risers that looked exactly like these...anyway I don't think they make them like this anymore (at least, I've not seen this particular variant for sale lately).

I think I paid somewhat less though...these for instance:

look the same but less expensive...

And not to make anybody mad but how were they tightened !!!

Tightened with an allen wrench, as designed. They broke because there is not enough metal where they broke. It took some time...they were on the bike a year...but afterwards (hindsight don't'cha know, looking at the machining, welding, and design...as well as how they actually gripped the handlebar...it was inevitable that they would break.

If you have them, get rid of them.

The Cycle House risers look like the ones that broke.  The exposed metal at the break looks like cast, not billet.

If anyone goes with risers that use 1/2" (HD-style) instead of the stock 12mm, there is NO NEED TO DRILL YOUR TOP BRIDGE.  Baron Customizing makes an adapter with 12mm lower threads and 1/2" upper threads.  I used them when I changed risers and they work great.

All of the current models I see have much more meat than the ones that broke...

Cool Daniel you know what I am talking about some people expect the clamp to touch on both sides and they are not designed to touch most are tightened on one side then tightened to a certain torque to clamp the handlebar in place. Just glad they did not come off in your hands while riding
