I have a CCW permit for GA but I know it's not recognized in SC.....and I didn't plan on carrying it on me anyways....I don't even carry it on me here in GA unless I'm sure I'll be in a place where it would be a good bet to be needed.....
In Ga, you can have a loaded/unloaded gun stored in the glove box, middle storage container on Vans, SUV's etc, etc .....OR even laying on the seat in PLAIN sight....you just can't have it hidden ON you or under the seat or etc. without a CCW permit......
I just wasn't sure if SC would let you do the same.....

Might I ask how you would know? It can happen anywhere/ anytime steamer. Anywhwere from a Lane Bryant in a upscale area to gas station on the bad side of town. Better to be proactive instead of reactive. Just sayin....

Honestly though, the biggest hindrance to me carrying(especially in the summer) is that I always keep my shirt tucked in...something I've always done and it makes it hard to CCW like that....

Steamer... do you HAVE to conceal carry or can you OPEN carry? In indiana our permit is for either. Sometimes the cops ask you to conceal it, but you don't HAVE to.
I am a helmet wearer. But I defend an adults right to decide for him/her self. I see the allure of it. I rode to the gas station last night sans helmet. It's nice. I just CAN'T do it. Just like gloves... I can't ride without gloves. Roadrash can be tolerated most ANYWHERE except your palms. If you have your palms roadrashed... you're crippled till they heal.

I am not advocating no helmet. Just advocating gloves. I am with you there brother. I broke BOTH my arms once. I highly recommend THAT as a test to see how much your family loves you. Jabba

If Big Al is Rollin, Big Al is Tottin, No matter the State, watch your speed and there is no need
to worry, what state your in is no matter if they don't pull you over.
Ridin dirty is a matter of don't get caught.
Like Fudgie said , how do you know when you will need it.
Always be ready.
Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
Besides on vacation aren't you with your wife.
Protectin Two there if I counted right.
So it's even more of an important job you have.
I believe it is our duty to protect ourselves as free men, not a comfort.

Steamer, all the Southern States as you are asking about one, will recognize your Carry Permit.
Even if they don't have a reciprocal agreemant with your home state.
I carried all the way to Pennsylvania and it was legal all the way except in Maryland.
No I did not stop and unload and lock them up just becasue I was in Maryland.
You are good to go Brother.

Once again... I agree with Al. I'd much rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6. And in SPADES when I am with my family.
A friend of mine's dad summed it all up for me. He was a Ranger in Nam. He said... "I didn't have anything against the VC. If it was up to me... we'd have played poker to decide who won, but when you're in the crap, and you come up against him, and it comes down to either you or him... That F-er HAS to go!"
That has stuck with me for 25 years. That guy is doing PSD work in Afghan now. As are 2 of his 3 sons. The 3rd son is still in the Army.

I learned something here. I thought that Indiana residents with unlimited permits had to always carry concealed except when hunting. I received my lifetime permit within about one month, so maybe you'll both be getting yours soon.

This is a great site. Just click on your state, and it builds you a map showing where your permit is honored. It also has a trip planner featuer and lots of other good stuff. It is WELL WORTH reading the state by state details. For example, some states may honor your permit, but if you carry into a restaurant that serves alcohol, you commit a felony. http://www.carryconcealed.net/
