*EDIT - Joe Nichols, the injured officer in this story, is the son of Fred and Virginia Nichols.  Fred is Valkyrie rider here in AZ.
Fred's future daughgter in law, Lisa, was killed in the accident.  Joe is still in critical condition.

Yesterday, I erroneously posted this as Westernbiker's son.  Sorry for the faux pas.
Heartfelt prayers for Fred's family, as well as Lisa's  angel

Woman killed in N. Phoenix crash, off duty officer injured

PHOENIX - Authorities say an off-duty Phoenix police officer was seriously injured in a crash in which a woman was killed Sunday night.

Phoenix police spokesman Luis Samudio said the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. near 19th Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

According to investigators, a Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound on Happy Valley Road crossed a raised median into oncoming traffic and struck a Ford F150 pickup truck.

The passenger in the truck, Lisa Lechtenberg, 27, died as a result of extensive injuries, according to Samudio.

The driver, a 28-year-old off-duty Phoenix police officer was seriously injured. Police have not released the officer's name.

Samudio said the driver of the Jeep also suffered serious injuries and is expected to survive. Two children in the Jeep, ages 5 and 7, suffered minor injuries.

Police say the initial investigation indicates the driver of the Jeep may have suffered a medical incident prior to the crash.

Samudio said there were no indications of impairment from either driver.

I do not know where, how or who started this but it is not me or any of my family. Connie, where did you get this info?
My prayers do go out to the families.

I apologize Chuck.  BigBF said he got an email from you... it's posted on the AZ board, as well.  It must be another member that he confused with you.  Again, I am so sorry.

Showin a little faith and asking for Grace and Mercy for this injured man.
