God Bless Jim Brosser.

AND SOMEBODY ON HERE WILL SAY THIS IS OLD NEWS.

But when did patriotism become out of fashion.

He has done what we all should be doing.

Stand up for your rights.

I live in Reno and remember this story fondly.  There was a lot of talk after this about the laws that might have been broken on both sides of this issue.  It was determined that violating the flag code carries no penalties but cutting the flag down was an act of vandalism and would be punishable.  No one was willing to press charges and the DA said he would refuse to prosecute if they did.  I wish they had filed charges just to wake the rest of us up so that we could stand up for what's right.

Good for him!  As weak kneed as our government has become, it is an act sending the right message.

Did a little research on this story... Happened back in 2007...

Here's some more info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Brossard

My favorite 2 parts:

Quote
The owner of the bar did not press charges against Brossard.[9]
(Guess he's smarter than we thought!)

Quote
Ka-Bar, the manufacturer of the knife Brossard used, made a Jim Broussard commemorative edition of the military knife[10]

Looks like he has a convenient order link right on his website (Hey, can't blame the guy for wanting to make a buck!)
