Hi all - I am looking for help in finding someone who can install a darkside tire on my 99 I/S.

The problem is that I am temporarily living in a hotel in Statesville, NC (up here on a 3 month contract) and do not have access to any of my tools. So I needed to take the bike to a shop that can remove the wheel and tire & replace it as well. In addition I need to be able to order the tire at the same place or order it online and have it delivered.

Anyone have any idea of who can do that in or around Statesville, NC?

My other option is to annoy the heck out of my client and take an extra day off to be back home for a 3 day weekend, and use 2 brothers in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not from the area, but since you'll more then likely need to do the nutcage mod, I imagine it will be hard to find someone to do this for you. Unless there is a custom shop willing to do the mod for you. Can't imagine a Dealer being willing. I could be wrong though.

This was assuming it is your 1st CT.

Not in your area but I had mine done at a small garage once and at an independent m/c shop once.

I'd check around the local custom shops.  One of them is almost certainly willing to do it.

Well I am heading to a local Honda shop to get my darkside tire installed

Got the tire (Falken 329 205 -55- 16) at TireKing in Mooresville and having the Honda shop in Statesville install it.

Now all I need is cookies, a sicker and a number Smiley

And of course, extra work hours cause I am going in late

I don't know that it really matters, and you're committed now, but the Falken 329 isn't a directional tire... it's an "inside/outside" tire.  And the tread is a little different on the right and left sides.

I have one on my standard.  Mine is a 205/60 though.  I can't tell at all that there is a difference from one side to the other... but now that I know... it BUGS me.  Not enough to CHANGE it.

I like it.

Good luck brother Darksider.
