Well, I had a pleasant surprise the other night from the postie, a parcel pick up notice.  It was my Works shocks finally arriving.  After paying the gov's vig, I brought the shocks home.

The shocks are very nice looking as seen here.

Upon removing the bolts for the old shocks, I can see now why the performance was a little rough.  The bushings on both lowers are totally shot.  These are Pruor's bushings and have around 20K miles.  Considering that the bike was grossly overload at times (600Kg scaled) I'm not at all surprised they are worn.  I am happy with the performance I got from them, and would still recommend them, as the oem bushings were split in two at 20K and not overloaded.
Here are both bushings

The shocks went on fairly easy and the preload adjustment was very easy even with the reluctant assistance of the gf.

Here's the right side shock.  The green tape is the reference for measuring the preload.

One initial observation is that the unloaded height is way higher then stock.  I'm short  5' 7" and there is no way to touch my left leg on the ground without putting any weight on the seat.  Once the bike is picked up and I'm seated, the height is very good.

No ride report since it's still raining but once it stops (please let it stop) I will take the bike out and report back.

I'd say Pruor's bushings still look good. Not much sag for 20K and overloaded. As for the GF: if she won't happily help, then she shouldn't ride.
