Um boom ba Bay Um boom ba Bay Ba Ba Boom Ba Be Be

London Ontario Canada

« on: June 11, 2010, 04:06:16 PM »

Hi All Thurs was to be the first day of the 6th PowWow.This year ,the group is meeting in Peru Vt in a local inn which is about an hour from Lake George NY and Americade. Sue and myself left London Ont at 6 am with plans on meeting up with Big and Lil D on Interstate 90 in NY.

Met up with the D's no problem. Always great to ride with them. Next we were to meet up with Lonerider and Giggles down the road but we rode thru hail and rain.
As we we just getting out of the rain, doing about 60,the back of my bike started to wiggle abit.Felt like riding on jellow..As we were about to pull over,we heard the "Bang"The 2 year old Avon Cobra just tore itself up. So here we are stuck on the side of the road. Good thing we all had CBs and the D's found a Honda shop 30 miles away but no new tyres. All that was left was a "takeoff" from a Wing. After a $165 tow,the shop did a great job getting us back on the road. A used tyre installed for $160 but it held air.

We  got to the inn many hours later.Tired, wet and hungry. Good thing Lonerider had the BBQ ready.Steaks were great as usual.

Great to see Rick,Deb,Darrel,Beb,Stewart,Christin,Keith,Diane,Karen and Claire and of course my Sue.
Happy Trails from the Wiley Inn VT Adrian V

Glad to hear that you and the missus are OK.   From the looks of the tire, I am surprised that it just felt wiggly.
I am curious, what is the manufacture date of that tire?  Do you remember?

Again, glad it wasn't worse and you ended up having a great time!

Was a real nice surprise to see you and Sue yesterday as well as the rest of the powwow gang

That new cobra should not have gone busted on you.  Hope that Honda shop sends it back to Avon
as you should get a brand new one    It sure looked like you had lots of tread left

Great Valk piloting.

Glad to hear you slowed it down safely after the big bang.  Very serious stuff having a tire blow on you -  I'm also glad you and Sue are safe - have a safe ride home. I'm looking forward to seeing you in Michigan.
