This is a 2000 standard. The yellow light on the headlight came on , but it was on continuous. When I checked, the left turn lights were stuck on. But on steady not blinking. When I turn on the right side it works correctly, and shuts off when I put the turn switch in the center position. But, the left side stays on even then. I swapped turn switches no change. I swapped relay switches no change. I disconnected the relay switch, removed both front and rear turn lights and the yellow light on the headlight still is on .  So is there anyone who's had the same problem, or knows where I need to look next ?

I can't say if this works the same way, but when it has happened in my car or truck it means that one of the bulbs is burned out on the side that is is no longer blinking. It just stays on steady.

Your turn signal lights on the front should burn continously, just like the run light portion of your tail light. If it does not blink when you turn it on, you have a turn signal element burnt out. If there is no light on the right side when the signal is off, you have a run light element burnt out. Change both bulbs, they should both burn all the time. The turn signals  on the rear do not burn all the time and are used only for signals unless they are wired for run/turn/stop lights.

O. K . ON the left side, the front running light  AND the front turn light elements are both on + the rear element .  Even when the right side is blinking . Even when the handle bar switch is in the center/off position. On this bike , IF I remove 1 bulb or burn out a bulb that side just blinks/flashes faster. When I turn the bike on , both the front running lights come on + the front and rear turn light elements NO BLINKING.

R U saying the rear turn signal bulbs light, when you hit that signal?

If so change the front bulbs, both of them......

If ya don't you will be back here again in a few days.

Front bulb is a dual filament, rear is single.

cooldude +1 on cleaning the switch housing.  Had a similar problem with turnsignals not behaving properly, but after cleaning the switch everything was good.

AS I said in the beginning, I've SWAPPED OUT  THE HANDLE BAR SWITCH AND THE TURN SIGNAL RELAY. [used parts from a different valk ] The problem didn't change. When I turn the bike  on, BOTH the filaments on the front left turn light come, and the rear turn light comes on. This stays that way even when I turn on the right turn signal.

Did you check the ground strength on left side both front and back? When you have a loss of ground, the system will seek a ground and often finds it thru the second filament on the bulb. This can cause all the filaments to light up.   Cool

Found the problem. Part of the wire harness under the rear fender had come out of the holder just enough to get rubbed by the tire when I bottomed out on a bad pothole. That caused a short from the taillight wire to the left turn wire. Thanks to everyone that responded.
