I had stopped at a fruit stand today to buy fresh picked bing and royal ann cherries.  A couple of folks were admiring the Phat Lady when the HD guy said rather sneeringly, "why didn't you buy a harley, dont' you like them".  I replied"  we really do like Harley's, we use them as starter motors for the Valkyries"!  You should have seen his face!

Yeah, the nickle trick would have topped that off, except would have to do it with the engine already running........the Harley "starter" would shake too much..... 2funny

Sometimes I think the very existence of non-HD motorcycles raise the ire of a lot of the HD faithful.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes I guess if you don't know any better................
I wish they would just leave us alone.

I think harley guys are just trying to relieve the pain they still have in their wallets by putting every other bike down.  You know, kinda like the sour grapes story we all read as children, harley guys have to make themselves feel good by putting down others.

I showed the nickle trick to one of our HD riders at a recent bike nite......His reply was..."S#%T I would never want my bike to be that smooth"  He went on to say real bikes vibrate.

I felt like saying I like Harleys too, very PRETTY motorcycles to look at, but Id rather ride....so I bought a Valkyrie

...so what he's saying is he didn't buy a motorcycle, he bought a very expensive gasoline powered vibrator?

Sheesh, Freud would have a field day with THAT and what it means!

I have about six friends that I have ridden with for many years. Hondas, kaws, Yamies. No bashing of other brands ever came up, Now they have all gone Harley in the last two years, and I am constantly asked when I am going to get rid of the Valk and get a Harley. I tell them not to feel sorry for me because I have the balls to ride what I want. I just don't get it.

he wont have it stick for long. between the china plastic and the jap casted alum. loc-tite dont even make an adheavsive strong enuff to withstand the vibration of that mighty briggs and stratton motor.

and as for the hardly attitude.................. its a chip they implant into the owner it has the same effect as roid rage. so now that i think about it that exsplaines everything about als actions and temperment.

and all this time i thought he was naturaly a flamming fornicatingtard, but its his chip that has gone a wray we all should pray for al and a full recovery

Its not so much the cubic dollars for the latest technology of the twenties, its the outragous t-shirts and other crap they gotta have to show how hardlied they are. I rode that trail in the 70's for a few years when I was cool.
Mostly like everything else, some is good, some isnt so much.
The nickle trick would have the end of Harlie Accountant's snootyness.
BTW , How were the cherries?

Big Al,  You'll need to use some Simple Green to clean off the oily surface before you try to glue it down.   Just trying to be helpful here.   Roll Eyes

I've been riding motorcycles for 40+ yrs and I've never had a Harley.   Their "better than thou" attitude has always irked me.  When people I know buy a Harley, even with all their 6 months of riding, their attitude changes.   Recently I took a ride up through scenic Anderson Texas area and stopped at a store there.  There were several Harleys parked there in a group and I recognised one couple who just bought a new Harley (their first bike) and I parked next to them and started trying to start a conversation with them and they were being very standoffish.   I suddenly realized THEY WERE SHUNNING ME!!!!!.....HA.......I have been going to church with these people for 10 yrs.    I laughed and went on my way.    The next time I saw them was in church and they tried to be just as friendly with me and my wife as they always had......no thanks.....don't need those kind of people in my life.    It's like when they get on their Harley they become the king of the road or something......ha
