Sweet looking bike. Looks like someone did a little tank modification from stock. I really like the look.

Trawling through the pages - think ive found out what happened to my bike..?! Was running erraticlly and eventually died. QuoteRj. PULL THE PLUGS before you even think about hitting the starter button...............
The old girl could be hydro locked, and if it is and you bash the starter, just look at a bill of about $1,500 to $2,000 to repair your goof. It will bust gears, and da motor will have to be pulled to repair......Think this is what happend to me..? Can u explain what "Hydro-Locked" is...? Starter Idile Gear - had a new one made here - like to get a Honda one though any links to Honda Spares dealers? Also, what causes this and recommendations for the future (e.g. Fuel Tap to "OFF" when parked?) Thanks, Bilks. http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Tech_Tips/Fuel_Shutoff/fuel_shutoff.html -------------------------------------- Do'h... Hydro-lock is when gas fills the cylinders. Gas won't compress in solid state, it just locks things up and gears try to keep going.
Pull all the plugs and hit the starter. if fluid flies out of any cyclinder, you could have been in trouble.
Find the problem, repair, roll over engine again, no fluid, put plugs in and fire the old girl up.
Think maybe ya'll can handle that Grasshopper?

Hydrolock happens when two things go wrong. One, the petcock leaks. and a float is stuck. And, the piston is stopped in the right place in the stroke. Cylinder now fills with gas while parked. You then hit the start button. The piston goes up, but the cylinder is full of gas. It cannot, and the starter is strong enough that it then breaks the gears. Sometimes the housing too. Which is what the picture shows.
