While some states are boycotting AZ and the man they call President criticizes, this is why Gov Brewer passed the law. In case you are not familiar with the ILLEGAL act of HUMAN SMUGGLING, and the ILLEGAL act of entering the US without proper documentation, this is one way it is done. Can you imagine being the last one out of this van? Each one of the people in this van paid the HUMAN SMUGGLER at least $2000. If they are Middle Eastern, they pay more because they are sent with the money from their leaders to get into the US undetected. They are packed in this van like sardines and are on their own when they get caught. The vehicle is most likely stolen, and surely does not have insurance. Whoever is driving was hired to drive at the risk of getting caught. Those making the money never put themselves at risk or in harms way. They are the "mob boss" if you would. Arizona then has the responsibility to arrest , house, feed, administer medical care, and return the ones caught back to Mexico. It is a multi billion dollar price tag every year that us tax payers must burden. This is why the immigration laws MUST be enforced and why the borders MUST be secure. We do not need 1200 desk workers on the border. We need manpower to stop this inhumane ILLEGAL activity. Drug smuggling is more easily accomplished. The officials find millions of tons of drugs every year in desert hideaways and in traffic stops. Shame on anyone who boycotts AZ. We would gladly send them to your state for "care and protection".
