What a bummer!  That happened to another biker here in the Denver area a couple of years ago except that he didn't make it.

I'm with you that is a Harley. Man of all the things out there to get you on a bike lighting is not one I would think too much about. Hope he makes it. Prayer are with him.

MOFO,, ouch,,, a very good example dispelling the myth that the rubber tires will "insulate you from the current path and therefore protect you. In reality the only thing that protects you in a car (must be metal hard top) is the metal cage - think Faraday (sp) cage!

True, the thing that protects you most in a car is the sheet metal body, which causes a Faraday shield "skin effect" where current is forced to flow only on the outermost areas.  The rubber tires will help some, but since lightning can be 100 million volts, it will easily arc the small distance from the rim to ground.

great!  michigan's number two on the list!!!  and were are we all going to be in july? guess i'll wear my steal helmet with a rounding cable!! 

on a more serious not, hope that rider ends up alright, with out any lasting problems.
