cooldude Had a sticking turn signal switch on both of our Valks, especially bad on my '97. The techs at work {car dealership} use this stuff for cleaning of critical electrical contacts so I bought a can for myself.

Switches were real vague feeling, still worked but felt mushy. Just took it apart & sprayed some of the DeoxIT on the switch kinda heavy, let it drip dry then reassembled. The switches feel as good as the ones on a new bike, notches real defined. Did the horn button too. I'm sure it would work real well on starter swiches also. I don't sell the stuff but it is nice to find a product that really works well. Got it at a local electrical supply house. Searched online for a local supplier to find it.

I've used Deoxit on my lighting equipment for years.  It lubricates as well as cleans the oxidation off of contacts.

I just overhauled my blinker switch and didn't even think to use Deoxit...d'oh!  It really is good stuff.

My gear works in all kind of conditions and I have a lot of multi-pin type connectors that need constant attention.

It is really important to look at the contents list for chemicals that are in the formula.  Phosphoric acid is generally the active ingredient in these things and when not washed completely off will corrode all the electrical contacts for sure.  Seems like all of the instant cleaners from wheel cleaners to motorcycle cleaners now are a combination  of materials that end up being either caustic or acidic. Personally I stay away from that kind of stuff since it appends an age of usefulness to the parts it touches.
