I had Motosens, white-faced gauges on the Standard I just sold; I really liked them. I took them off and sold them separately because even though I wanted gauges on my I/S, I thought the white-faced ones wouldn't look right.

Broke down and bought black-faced ones. I didn't have room for them up on the fairing because of how I mounted the GPS and Ipod Touch... so in taking a look at Motosens' site, couple guys from Japan had mounted them on the choke cable cover. After some tinkering around, here is the result:

* Please excuse the dirtiness of everything... major polishing coming this weekend...

Thought they came out pretty good and you can easily glance down and quickly size up what it going on due to the orange needles. I am still working on lining them up on the horizontal axis, but they are close to the position I want them in. A nice addition for a "decent" price and an afternoon worth of work.

Another option on the gauges if ya use a quick glance.

Line the needles up when they are operating at the correct setting.    Ya glance down and if the needles are all in a straight row you know ya got no problem.   That is the way we used to set em up in our circle burner car.    Just a thought.   We tried to set the needles so they were straight up at normal operating.

Where's the best source to buy Motosens gauges? I don't see an option to buy them from the website.

I'm thinking on going with coolant temp, oil pressure and,,,,,, just in case I ever do find a nice Interstate tank,, the Fuel Gauge. I'd rather have the fuel gauge sitting there, right in front of me as an incentive to get that IS tank!!! lol  Grin

... how long did it take to hook everything up?

I have done this before, plus, I already have a Centech AP-2 fuse box mounted and wired in my fairing, so it took me about 1/2 a day to put it all together. If you have never done it before, it might be an all-day event. But, it is pretty easy to do...

The brackets did not have to be bent, the gauges are just moved on both the "X" and "Y" axis to get the angle you want on both (axis). The chrome spacers are from ACE Hardware, you might not find them out with the rest of the stuff, they are like cigs and porn, behind the counter at some hardware stores as they are expensive. I paid about $2.75 per spacer. I put spacers to slide them out a bit from the cable cover so they are easier to glance at around the side of the tank.

Instead of "Latest Addition" shouldn't that be "Latest Addiction" ?
