« on: June 18, 2010, 07:03:59 AM »

I had a good friend check out some motel's near Natchez,Mississippi for me this past weekend. We can get a discount with 10 or more rooms guaranteed ...Guaranteed means that YES you will show-up even if the weekend is 100% rain. This post is a " feeler " to see how many are interested in doing the entire 444 miles of The Natchez Trace starting in Natchez, Mississippi on saturday morning Sept.4 and ending outside of Nashville, Tennessee on sunday Sept.5 . We'll ride into Natchez on friday evening the 3rd and the saturday night motel will more than likely be in the Muscle Shoals, Alabama area alittle more than half-way of The Natchez Trace Parkway....Please post to this thread if you want to ride the entire 444 miles. I'll keep this bumped to page one from time to time so I can get a feel for the number of folks interested. If not enough want to join us this ride will be canceled  Sad

That first photo of the bridge is about 3 miles from my house!

Depending on the agreed to price, I would be willing to commit to 1 room for 1 night in order to make the deal happen.  That having been said, I have ridden the Natchez too many time in nice weather to do it in pouring rain should that happen!

For those who haven't done the Natchez Trace....this will be a great ride as you can see from the photos that were posted.

I'm in Muscle Shoals,Alabama just about every week ( working ) I'll ask the lady that runs the motel there what kind of deal she'll give for a 10 room guarantee. I've been on The Trace many times however I've never did the entire 444 miles start to finish and those that commit to this ride thats the plan to do the entire ride  cooldude

Is the speed limit on the NTP 35?  I've done parts by cage, always wanted to do it by bike.  I'm interested, but can't commit at this time.  Will post if I can make it.  Good Idea for a ride.

Speed limit is 50 mph and speeding ticket revenue for some of the small towns along the way is a must  Sad

I'm not 100% sure about this however I think a speeding ticket on The Natchez Trace is like one on The Blue Ridge Parkway it does not count as points on your license <---Again not sure  Undecided

Like I told you at The Whiskey Run I always thought it was " THE " Detn8er that made it rain however since he nolonger rides with us I'm thinking it was me the whole time   Shocked

If we get 10 folks or more ( if splitting the cost by sharing a room) to confirm ( Confirm means " YES " I'll be there ) then this ride will be a go  cooldude We need to sell 10 motel rooms in order to get a discount for the friday night motel and I'm sure the saturday motel will give a discount with 10 rooms as well.I'll get this all worked out after I know how many plan to ride.

Tom ( Santa ) Mike ( hubcap ) Dave ( Dave ) Joe ( Smokin'joe ) ....My friend in Mississippi is also a confirmed rider who will show rain or shine . cooldude

I wouldn't be so sure in MS.  Cities have to have a population of at least 25,000 before they are allowed to run radar on a national highway.  I'd be more concerned about the park rangers.

I am interested and will try to make it.

Hey Joe, I'll get with Beekeeper, but you can probably add our names to the list.  Hopefully, my back problems will be fixed by that time.

Also, would you mind if I tried to get some things that we can auction off that Friday night?  That will be before our Lupus Walk and I want to try and bring in some more money.

If not, that's cool, you can still count us in  Smiley

Joe,
It is about time you plan something closer to where I am staying.  Getting tired of the long rides (not).  I'll be a tenative yes on this one.  I am now living about 8 miles off the Trace in Mississippi about in the middle getting ready to go back to work.

Sorry I didn't call but I have been busy setting up the Pacaderm Palace II.
