Heading down to the Bilmore Estate from the Detroit area next week.....taking I-75 to I-640 to I-40....anything I need to be aware of on that route or is there a better option?

IMHO any route is better than an interstate. It takes more time but it's a better experience because you're seeing the real America. Interstates are all the same. Have fun no matter what route you take.

Add some extra time on the front end of your trip and catch Blue Ridge Parkway somewhere in Virginia.  It is a very sweet ride down to Biltmore.  If you have ridden it before, you know what I am talking about.  If you haven't, make it happen.  You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the input guys....unfortunately, due to time constraints and some minor physical issues, we will be in the cage and using the X-ways.........just wondering about major construction or delays along the way that should be avoided.

Ur right about the Parkway too....rode it a couple of years ago and it's amazing !!
