Next week gonna go to upper new york state to test my new passport.
Expect to cross the border at ganonoque, stay in watertown,
then head east the next day, staying wherever I can find a place.
Question is, what delays, detours, run-a-fouls, should I be
looking to avoid in high side 'o NY state.
What are the regular tolls, where do the cops hide,
what towns to stay out of, that kinda stuff.

I grew up in NY State near the 1000 Island Bridge which I believe is the one you are talking about. Make sure you spend a night in Alexandria Bay, It is the last town before the bridge. I was there 2 summers ago on my Valk, rode from central Florida. Lots of bikes and great party spot with hotels you can walk to. Can be kind of on the $$$ side. If you are near Syracuse got to Hieds of Liverpool, best Hotdogs in the world, they make their own dogs called Hoffemans, old german reciepe. Try the white ones called coneys. They been in the same building since the 30's. If you are on I-81 watch for State Troopers, they hang in the median in small turn arounds covered by trees. I would suggest route 3 North, you can see Lake Ontario from lots of it. Route 3 goes right to the 1000 island bridge and it goes right through Watertown. it is great when you are not in the city.
Are you riding your bike? It is great riding country.
