Would like to install a Cigerette Lighter Socket and am not sure where it will hook up to on the bike.
Found this reference on this site: "I mounted the power supply under the fairing I just wired to the cigerette lighter adapter that came with the unit."
Also need to find a good, and waterproof socket online? or at my expensive dealership..

If you are going to use it as a cigarett lighter than never mind........but if you really mean you want a power point to plug in stuff......why moount it on the frame or fairing....it may look cool when NOT in use, but how cool is a nasty wire draping from one end of your bike to the other. You can hook directly to accessory hookups and just lay the power point in with the tool kit under the seat, or run it into the right hand saddlebag easy enough access and then its out of sight. I have three under the seat, a double one connected to the accessory wires and a third for the compressor hooked directly to the battery

Sounds like a plan except the Interstate's tool box is in one of the saddle bags. Where are the accessory wires to hook up to socket power point to? and what kind of a connection is it? TX

The accessory hookups are behind the R/H side cover, they are a male/female plug in type two wires in a plastic sleeve. easy enough to plug into and slip under the frame into the under the seat compartment

I've installed a secondary fuse panel wired through a relay. My power point is wired through that and is on a 10 amp fuse. The rt side acc wires come through the 5 amp accesory fuse in the main fuse panel. If you want to run a tire compressor, use a relay and take the main power off the acc wires. My port is under the seat, behind the fuel selector valve.

Found this reference on this site: I believe that is my reference and I was talking about the power supply for my XM radio. I just soldered the wires to the power supply hot (center contact) and the ground to the outer contact of the plug in that goes normally into a cigarette plug.I taped the whole thing up good and wire tied it up under the fairing. I took power from a running light wire and hooked the ground up to a bolt in the fairing mount bracket. As far as a lighter goes i mounted one under the handbar clamp where it is easy to reach while driving.

Any decent auto supply store should have a cigarette type accessory outlet. I bought one for an external application with a spring loaded cover to keep the elements out when not in use. I connected mine to the spare accessory connectors under the panel and just put the outlet under the seat down in the tool compartment. I use mine to run a GPS.

I wired a secondary fuse panel to a relay triggered to some wire that is on with the key in On and Accessory positions, on a little plywood board. Also on that board, with wire ties, are a power outlet for my GPS and a USB connector for my iPod. Fits under the seat if you don't have the CB radio... Fred.

I have the setup like Hoser's, but mounted it on the left side so I can light a smoke on the road using my left hand, as well as charge my cell phone and camera while riding or parked, it's always on.

Mine looks exactly like Hosers, except black. Mine runs straight to the battery with a 20a mini fuse.
