Our July Dinner / Meeting will be held at the Plano location of Love and War in Texas, site of the largest group assembled for a DFW VRCC Dinner / Meeting since April 2009.  The address is 601 E. Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX  75074 and it is located on the Northeast corner of Plano Parkway and Hwy 75.  Off Hwy 75 (Central Expressway) take the Plano Parkway exit, go East, and take the first left into Love and War parking lot after going over the rail road tracks.  T: 972.422.6201, F: 972.633.1225

Happy Hour: 4:00 - 7:00
Dinner: 7:00
Meeting/Elections: 8:00

Along with the usual fun and frivolity you've come to expect at our monthly meetings, we will also have ELECTIONS!  That's right, it's been a year since Jim and I ascended to our current positions and it's time to, if not totally reshuffle the deck, at least add another card.  Grin

Jim and I have come up with a subtle change to the club's leadership structure that we believe makes sense.  In order to spread the load, provide more continuity, and, perhaps most importantly, prevent the burnout that has befallen our predecessors, we propose that
1) each year a new Vice President be elected
2) after one year as Vice President, he or she becomes the President, and
3) after one year as President, he or she assume an Emeritus role to assist or fill in when and where needed.

In this scenario, Ghillie, or any other person qualified, interested, enthusiastic, organized, and brimming with great ideas would become the new VP tasked with all club email correspondence and special projects, Jim would become the new President tasked with monthly meetings and ride/wrench party ideas and I would be relegated to helper status focusing most of my attention on wrench party ideas and rides.  Of course, any and all dinner, meeting, ride, wrench party, and pie input and assistance is always encouraged and appreciated.

So, how does this sound?  OK?  Non-threatening?  Inviting?  Do you want to expose yourself volunteer for three years of fun?  Do you want to coerce shame beg nominate someone else?

Let's get a nomination list going as well as the very important headcount.

And remember, you need not be present to win!   Shocked   Just ask Jim...

Would it be safe to assume that Ghillie has accepted a nomination?

Not sure about that one armed guy as president.

But it sounds like a good plan.  Let's tear up the bylaws and vote the plan in.

I would also like to nominate Vermithrax as a VP candidate, if he would accept the nomination.

Ask not what your VRCC can do for you... Ask what you can do for your VRCC.

Funny how my name keeps ending up on the short list in these topics of discussion. Lemme see, can't have accepted a nomination as there has not been a meeting yet to have a nomination. I have not agreed to accept a nomination, I was asked to consider accepting if a nomination was made and I still am. And if someone nominates Chuck as VP I will second that nomination if he is interested.

Does this guy sound like a natural-born politician, or what?!   Cheesy

IMO, the club would benefit from the direct involvement of a number of folks.   cooldude   The question is, whose turn is it?   Undecided

Nominations, please...   police

I'll hafta make sure I bring Kali to that meeting... She'd just LOVE being told she's the president of that motorcycle club thingy where they're really nice to her and gave her a do-rag, and where most of them drive their cars when it's raining. (That's what she calls it, I swear!)

Wow!  Thanks for the vote of confidence.  I accept the nomination but everyone needs to keep one thing in mind when it's time to vote; with two young children and a handicapped wife I have little time to spare.

Wow, I guess I better learn to correctly pronounce his 'handle' so that I can address him correctly.  Vermin Fax.. nope.. Van Thrax.. no no.  Oh well, lets just make it "MR. VICE PRESIDENT".  Wink

Okay.  Enough of my poor attempts at humor.

I think he'd make a great V.P.

And Chuck, everybody in the club understands completely that your family will always come first!

I'm open to a new handle.  Wanderer told us that "real" bikers have their handles assigned by their club so I am still in an "unreal" state.

Wow - I used to adjust the chain on my bike when I was a kid.  Yes, wheels had been invented by that time.

Guess I was practicing without a license.......
