Supply and demand.

If it helps you I believe there are a couple of other Honda models whose taillight will bolt up to a Valkyrie.

I'm also looking for a complete Valkyrie tail light assembly. Any model cross over information you have would be much appreciated.

Thank You,

Mark

it required some modifications to adapt.  I think I had to use longer bolts, been so long I don't remember for sure.  But When installed, looks like it came from the factory.  Be sure to get the rubber pad that goes between the fender and the light.

You can buy the whole assembly from Honda for about $123.00, just be sure to order all of the parts. Good Luck!

Dag,

We can get a price for a new one and send it back with your friends, of course that means waiting a month. I am pretty sure a Honda Sabre uses the same light.

I believe that the whole taillight assembly was the same for the Valkyrie, all of the 1100's (ACE AERO Sable), the 750 ACE as well.  Honda has been using the individual turn signals on almost all of their cruisers for 20 years.  Was in the dealership the other day and the new 1300's still have the same turn signals.  Boring.

Actually, the lens is the same for all these Hondas, but the mount is not the same.  The mount from a Sabre or Shadow Ace can be made to work (so I have heard), but it is not a direct bolt up for a Valk.  For $125 or so, I just ordered all new parts to add the fender (knockout) light to my interstate.

Dag. I have the one off my Valk still. Not pristine but complete. If you need it, it's yours. I'll try to get a pic. for you.

Jess,

That is exactly what I want to do as well. Mount a Valkyrie tail light in my Interstate rear fender. After following a few Valkyries in La Crosse, I feel the rear lighting could use the extra help.

Will the light work with a CB radio mounted under the trunk?
Mark: thought I had a CB antenna and mount found for you, but, alas, it was not to be!

I bought a "beehive" Harley taillight (from the J.P. cycles Catalog) about $49.00.  It took some imaginative bolting, with wide inside washers and silicone adhesive for added bonding....but it looks real nice and gives that added lighting I wanted. Their catalogs are free, so, give it a looksee.

I put a wanted add on the classifieds page and got 3 or 4 offers. You might try there if you are still looking.

The "trunk only" lighting on the IS is not great.  And, I believe we all need to change out our trunk light bulbs which are 9-11 years old now.  They are a punch-style bulb, and are not known to burn out (ever?), but all bulbs lose power and brightness with time, and I'm betting new bulbs will make a significant improvement.

Even the 1157 bulb in a std/tourer tail light under the IS trunk is a big improvement.... and you can get LED arrays to replace the 1157 in that light housing from two different places (Radianz/Custom Dynamics).

Here's the parts list for the std/tourer tail light addition to interstate:

Honda standard/tourer taillight
33701-MZO-67117

RUBBER boot
80122-MZ0-000 001 $5.67

01 COLLAR
17216-HA7-670 002 $3.40

21 RUBBER washer
80219-KCZ-000 002 $2.50

23 BOLT, FLANGE (5X25)
90112-GG2-900 002 $2.50

Maybe the wiring harnesses for the Tourer.

33701-MZ0-671  tail light assembly  $110.65
80122-MZ0-000  rubber  $5.67
32102-MZ0-000  wiring sub-assembly  $5.52
32103-MZ0-000  wiring sub-assembly  $8.86

Use the wiring harness sub-assemblies from a Standard and they tie right in to the Interstate system (except for one wire) without cutting anything.  For the one wire,  just connect and tape it to the standing part of the I/S wiring harness .

There is a great LED upgrade for trunk lights....... but I'm not doing it.

http://www.shop.braggengineering.com/product.sc?productId=3&categoryId=1

I have read the IS CB radio under the trunk will not allow the std/tourer tail lens to fit.... I have also read it can be made to fit, and I have also read that the radio can be turned in it's mount which allows the lens to fit.  I have no CB and don't know for sure.
